Team Galactic is the coercive organization operating across Sinnoh and the central antagonist group in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl. Led by Cyrus, its members take Pokémon and pressure people into doing their work.
What does Team Galactic do?
Team Galactic’s members use heavy-handed methods to obtain Pokémon and make people do their dirty work, according to the official game story. The group’s activities point toward a larger ambition, but its methods are exploitative rather than benevolent.

Who leads Team Galactic?
Cyrus
Cyrus is Team Galactic’s boss. The official character description says he speaks and acts with a calm, logical demeanor, while despising human minds and emotions because he considers them defective. That hostility shapes his worldview and the organization’s purpose.

Three commanders help carry out Cyrus’s plans. Their different temperaments make them more than interchangeable officers:

- Mars is strong-willed, hates losing, and has sworn loyalty to Cyrus. Her passion for Pokémon can lead to emotional outbursts; her partner Pokémon is Purugly.
- Jupiter is mysterious and skilled in battle, and is willing to steal other people’s Pokémon to achieve her goals. Her partner Pokémon is Skuntank.
- Saturn is cool and collected. He sometimes doubts Cyrus’s plans but still follows his orders; his partner Pokémon is Toxicroak.
What does Team Galactic want?
Spoilers for the climax of Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl follow.
Cyrus intends to use Legendary Pokémon to remake reality according to his ideals. At Spear Pillar, atop Mount Coronet, he summons Dialga and Palkia from their dimensions and begins to break the fabric of reality, as described in the official Sinnoh feature.

Does Team Galactic’s plan differ between the games?
The Legendary Pokémon associated with Cyrus’s plan depends on which version you play: Brilliant Diamond is associated with Dialga, while Shining Pearl is associated with Palkia. Both games are Nintendo Switch role-playing adventures and remakes of the original Nintendo DS Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl.
