Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsIf Pokémon GO is open, an invitation should appear in-game; if the app is in the background or closed, push alerts require Raid Invitations to be enabled. Check Settings → Notifications, then open Nearby to look for an active invite. Niantic does not publish a guaranteed delivery time, so a late or missing push alert does not by itself show whether the invitation is still usable.
Why am I not getting Pokémon GO raid invites?
Start by distinguishing a missing phone alert from a missing invitation in the game. Niantic says an invite appears as an in-game notification while Pokémon GO is open. When the app is running in the background or closed, push notification delivery requires the Raid Invitations setting to be on. Niantic’s invitation instructions do not give a guaranteed delivery time or explain every cause of delay.

Turn on Raid Invitations
- Open Pokémon GO and tap the Poké Ball menu.
- Open Settings, then Notifications.
- Make sure Raid Invitations is enabled.
Niantic identifies this in-game toggle as the prerequisite for push alerts when the app is backgrounded or closed. If the app is open, look for the in-game notification instead.
Look in Nearby instead of waiting for a push alert
If you may have missed the alert, open Pokémon GO and check Nearby for an active raid invitation. Tapping the push alert opens the app; from there, the active invitation can be selected in Nearby. An invite that is no longer active will not be recoverable through this route.

Why an invitation may no longer let you join
A notification arriving late and an invitation becoming unusable are different problems. Raid invitations and lobby access are time-sensitive, and the invite’s status depends on what happened in the raid.
- The raid started before you entered the lobby: the invitation disappears if you have not joined by the time the raid begins.
- The inviter left too soon: invitees can generally join after the inviter leaves, but not if the inviter was the only trainer in the lobby and left before anyone else joined.
- You joined but hit an error: Niantic says the invitation may remain in Nearby while the raid is ongoing and for a few minutes after it ends.
- The raid or lobby is not eligible: some raids are local-only, and capacity or remote-participation limits can prevent entry.
These joining conditions are separate from whether your phone received a push notification. Niantic’s raid-joining troubleshooting page also notes that an in-person join error may mean you are outside the Gym’s range.

What to try if the invite is active but you still cannot join
- Open Nearby and select the active invitation. Do not rely on the alert alone.
- Check the raid’s access requirements. Confirm you have the required pass and that the raid allows your chosen way of joining. A Remote Raid Pass can be used for eligible raids found through Nearby or tapped on the map, as well as for invitations. See Niantic’s remote-joining guidance.
- Try the Friend List route if available. You may be able to join a friend who is waiting in a raid lobby without an invitation. You must be Great Friends or higher, the friend must share raid attendance, the lobby must be open, and you need an eligible pass. Niantic’s current help article says this route does not work for some raid types, including Shadow and Elite Raids. Details are in Joining Raids from your Friend List.
Limits on remote participation and lobby capacity can change or vary by raid conditions. Niantic’s help pages describe limits but should not be treated as a single permanent cap for every event or game version; check the conditions shown in-game.

If the in-game toggle is on but alerts or invitations continue to behave unexpectedly, use general app troubleshooting as a next step rather than assuming it will guarantee a notification fix. Niantic’s Android troubleshooting guide recommends updating an older app version and describes reinstalling the latest official version as a general measure. Follow Niantic’s current device-specific guidance before reinstalling; the guide says game progress is stored online.
