There is no verified, official way to fake Pokémon GO walking distance safely on iOS 17 or Android. GPS spoofing, modified game clients and unauthorized add-ons violate Niantic’s rules and can put an account at risk. The supported no-PC option is Adventure Sync: it can count eligible real-world activity while Pokémon GO is closed, once it is set up with Apple Health or Google Fit.
What people mean by a Pokémon GO walking hack
“Walking hack” can describe several very different things. Only one of these is an official Pokémon GO feature:
- Adventure Sync: Niantic’s background activity tracking, which can add eligible distance while the game is closed.
- GPS spoofing: changing the device’s reported location to make the game think the Trainer has moved. Niantic classifies location falsification as cheating.
- Step injection or movement simulation: trying to make a phone or fitness app report activity that did not happen. Manually entered activity does not count for Adventure Sync.
- Modified clients, emulators and third-party add-ons: software outside the official game that changes or interacts with play. Niantic prohibits these categories.
- Phone-shaking accessories: devices intended to trigger motion sensors. They are not an official Pokémon GO feature, and their results are not guaranteed.
There is no verified Niantic-approved iOS 17 exploit that fabricates walking distance. A video, app listing or claim that a method is “updated,” “undetectable” or compatible with one operating system does not establish that it is supported, reliable or safe for an account. Android behavior can also differ by device maker, operating-system version, fitness app and battery settings.
How to set up Adventure Sync without a PC
Adventure Sync is available to Trainers at Level 5 or above. It uses connected health or fitness data to track eligible activity while Pokémon GO is not open; it is not a way to inject steps or simulate GPS travel. Niantic’s setup guidance is in its Adventure Sync help page.

- Reach Trainer Level 5.
- Open Pokémon GO and tap the Main Menu button.
- Tap Settings, then General.
- Enable Adventure Sync and grant the permissions requested by the game.
- Connect Pokémon GO to Apple Health on iPhone or Google Fit on Android, and allow the relevant activity data access.
Menu labels and permission prompts may vary between OS versions and devices. Adventure Sync only credits eligible activity it receives; it does not guarantee that every step shown by a separate fitness app will appear in Pokémon GO.
iPhone: check location and Apple Health access
Niantic’s troubleshooting guidance says background tracking may require Pokémon GO’s Location Services permission to be set to Always. The documented path is iOS Settings → Privacy → Location Services → Pokémon GO → Always. iOS wording can differ by release, so look for the setting that permits location access in the background.

- Confirm Adventure Sync is enabled in Pokémon GO.
- Confirm Pokémon GO is connected and allowed as a data source in Apple Health.
- Check that background or battery-saving settings are not preventing the phone from recording activity.
- Use the iPhone’s normal motion and health tracking; manually typing steps into Apple Health does not count for Adventure Sync.

Android: check location, Google Fit and battery restrictions
On Android, check Pokémon GO’s location access under a path such as Android Settings → Apps (or Apps & notifications) → Pokémon GO → Permissions → Location. Exact labels vary by manufacturer and Android version. Also confirm that Google Fit is connected, permitted to record activity and associated with the fitness data you expect Pokémon GO to use.

- Verify Adventure Sync is enabled in Pokémon GO and the Trainer is Level 5 or above.
- Confirm the game has the required location permission and Google Fit access.
- Check whether battery optimization or manufacturer-specific background restrictions are stopping Pokémon GO or Google Fit from recording activity.
- Do not rely on activity typed into Google Fit by hand; Niantic says manually entered fitness data is not credited.
Niantic notes that Android menus and troubleshooting steps can vary across devices. Its official troubleshooting page covers Adventure Sync permissions and synchronization.
Why your distance may not show up right away
Adventure Sync data can take up to several hours to synchronize. A delayed distance update does not by itself mean the feature is broken or that you need a spoofing tool. Niantic says restarting Pokémon GO after the health or fitness data has been recorded may help prompt an update.

- Allow time for eligible activity to sync before troubleshooting further.
- Check that the activity was recorded by the connected health or fitness app, rather than entered manually.
- Review battery-saving settings, which can interfere with the sensors and background tracking the feature needs.
- If no progress appears after checking permissions and allowing time, follow Niantic’s troubleshooting steps or contact in-app support.
What happens if you use a spoofing app or modified client?
Niantic identifies falsified location, modified or unofficial software, emulators and unauthorized third-party software or add-ons as rule violations. Its Gameplay Fairness Policy describes a three-strike system: a first strike involves a warning and about seven days of degraded gameplay; a second can involve about a 30-day suspension; a third can result in permanent termination. These are policy descriptions, not a guarantee that every case receives all three strikes. Niantic says some conduct may result in immediate termination. Its Terms of Service violations guidance explains the prohibited software and conduct categories.
Claims that a tool is “anti-ban” or “undetectable” cannot guarantee protection from enforcement. Unofficial downloads and services can also create separate device, privacy and account-security risks, particularly if they request broad permissions, device profiles or account credentials.

Protect your account and play safely
- Do not give a walking-hack provider your Pokémon GO login, session token, Apple ID, Google password or two-factor authentication code.
- Be cautious about granting location, health or fitness permissions to apps that are not official or that you do not trust.
- Follow Niantic’s Player Guidelines: stay aware of traffic, pedestrians, obstacles and restricted areas, and do not play while driving.
- If Niantic has taken action against an account, use its official ban appeal process. Avoid third-party “unban” vendors.
Verdict: use Adventure Sync, not a fabricated walking hack
For a no-PC option that Niantic supports, configure Adventure Sync and the matching Apple Health or Google Fit permissions, then allow time for real activity to sync. GPS spoofing, step injection, modified clients and unauthorized add-ons are not safe substitutes, and Niantic does not promise that any third-party tool avoids enforcement.
