In Pokémon Legends: Z-A, you can change your trainer’s hair, facial details, and outfit. Salons handle appearance adjustments, boutiques sell clothes, and the Outfit & Looks menu provides a way to readjust your look after roughly an hour of play. Mega Dimension is not required for the basic customization features, but its paid DLC includes two apparel sets.
What can you customize?
Nintendo describes options for changing your hairstyle and hair color, as well as eyebrows, lip color, eyelashes, and other appearance details. You can also change your outfit. Nintendo does not publish an exhaustive count of hairstyles, clothing items, or appearance options, nor does it definitively say whether every option is available regardless of the selected character.

Where do you change your look and get clothes?
Salons: hair and appearance
Visit a salon in Lumiose City to adjust your hairstyle, hair color, eyebrows, and related appearance details. Nintendo’s July 31, 2025 announcement also names lip color and eyelashes among the ways to personalize your look.
Boutiques: clothing
Boutiques sell clothing, with tops, bottoms, and hats among Nintendo’s examples. The official descriptions do not provide a complete catalog or price list.

Furfrou grooming is separate
Nintendo’s game page also mentions a specialty shop where Furfrou can have its fur trimmed into fashionable styles. That is Pokémon grooming, not a salon option for your trainer.
When can you change your outfit?
The Pokémon Company International says that outfit and look readjustment becomes available after approximately one hour of play time. Once it is available, press X to open the main menu, then press − to open Outfit & Looks. This route and approximate timing are given in the official Mega Dimension instructions.

Does Mega Dimension add outfits?
Yes. Mega Dimension is paid DLC and includes the Holo-X and Holo-Y Apparel Sets. Nintendo says those sets can be used in both the DLC and Pokémon Legends: Z-A. The official instructions say to purchase the DLC to enable the apparel claim, then launch the game and open Outfit & Looks.
You do not need Mega Dimension for the base game’s salon and boutique customization described above; the DLC’s named additions are its apparel sets. When buying the game, check that the listing matches your console: Nintendo lists it for Nintendo Switch and describes a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition as an upgraded version.

The DLC page also lists an early-purchase offer with a February 28, 2026 purchase deadline and a serial code valid through March 10, 2026. Both dates have passed, so those dates should not be treated as a current offer.
