Unauthorized copies of Pokémon Legends: Z-A were circulating before its October 16, 2025 release, according to Video Games Chronicle (VGC). VGC also reported pre-release streams and datamining. The reporting does not establish how the copies were obtained or whether a specific technical “crack” was involved.
What was reported about the pre-release leak?
On October 13, 2025, VGC reported that unauthorized copies of Pokémon Legends: Z-A were circulating ahead of launch, and that people were streaming the game and examining its files. That supports describing the game as leaked or circulating without authorization before release; it does not establish how many copies were involved or how widely they spread. VGC’s October 13 report is the source for those claims.
Was the game technically “cracked”?
That is not established by the available reporting. “Cracked” can imply that copy protection was bypassed, but VGC’s account does not identify a decryption exploit, bypass method, tool, or other technical process. The precise claim supported by the report is that unauthorized copies were in circulation before launch.

When did Pokémon Legends: Z-A officially release?
