The Mega Dimension Hyperspace Pokédex contains 132 entries, numbered #001–#132. It includes Pokémon found in Hyperspace Wild Zones, Special Scan encounters, story events, post-game missions, and reward-based research events. This guide lists every entry in order and explains how the different encounter types work.

Current version: Ver. 2.0.2, released March 18, 2026. Update from the HOME Menu by highlighting the game, pressing + or −, and selecting Software Update → Via the Internet. (Nintendo support)

How to open the Hyperspace Pokédex

Open the in-game Pokédex with X Button → Pokédex. On the Pokédex screen, press X, or use L/R, to switch between the standard Lumiose Pokédex and the Hyperspace Pokédex.

You must first complete the base-game story. After the credits, the opening Mega Dimension mission appears at the top of Hotel Z; ride the elevator to the roof to begin. The DLC released on December 10, 2025, for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. (The Pokémon Company)

How to find Hyperspace Pokémon

At Hotel Z, speak with Ansha and Hoopa to make a donut. The donut opens a portal to Hyperspace Lumiose. Portals have one to five stars, with recommended levels of 105, 120, 140, 170, and 200 respectively. Hyperspace Pokémon can exceed the normal level-100 limit, so a five-star team needs preparation rather than a conventional level-100 lineup. (Hyperspace Lumiose details)

Wild Zones

Wild Zones are the main source of ordinary Pokédex encounters. They focus on one or more types and show up to three focus Pokémon before you enter. Additional species can appear around those Pokémon. Mixed-type zones combine the relevant single-type tables, and the displayed order or combination can change between visits.

  • Your journey will take you to all manner of sights in the streets arrayed around Prism Tower, including shops, restaurants, and places called wild zones—where Pokémon roam free.
  • As you catch, train, and battle Pokémon, there will be plenty of people to meet too—like AZ, the enigmatic owner of Hotel Z.

Wild Zones are not permanently attached to one Lumiose City location. Their locations and available species can change with the time of day, and the game previews the available Pokémon before entry. If the desired Pokémon is missing from the preview, leave and check another portal or time period. (Wild Zone location and rotation information)

Donut stars and catch rates

Match the donut’s star rating to the portal whenever possible. Entering with a donut one star below the portal applies a 0.9× catch-rate modifier. Entering two or more stars below applies a much harsher 0.3× modifier.

Battle Zones

Battle Zones are separate from Wild Zones. They primarily provide Survey Points, items, trainers, and Hyperspace Berries. They may generate Pokémon-related objectives, but they are not the normal destination for completing the Wild Zone portion of the Hyperspace Pokédex.

Special Scans: Cobalion, Terrakion, Virizion, Keldeo, Meloetta, Latias, and Latios

These seven entries are tied to Special Scans rather than ordinary Wild Zone searching. Complete Hyperspace Mission 12 and the required post-Rayquaza progression, then complete Side Mission 188, “Start Special Scanning!”. Each scan costs 25,000 Hyperspace Survey Points and creates a five-star Hyperspace zone. (Special Scan requirements)

Only one Special-Scan five-star zone can be active on the map at a time. Starting another scan while one is already present overwrites the existing zone, so enter the current zone before scanning again.

If five consecutive Special Scans fail to produce a Legendary Pokémon, the next scan is guaranteed to produce one until the relevant Legendary collection is completed. Latias, Latios, Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion can be shiny; Keldeo and Meloetta cannot. (Legendary encounter information)

Story, mission, and reward-based entries

Several late Pokédex entries are not standard Wild Zone catches:

  • Darkrai (#125): encountered in the Hyperspace Newmoon Nightmare during the DLC story.
  • Groudon (#129): encountered in the Hyperspace Desolate Land after the relevant Ruby/Sapphire distortion progression.
  • Kyogre (#128): encountered in the Hyperspace Primordial Sea after the relevant distortion progression.
  • Rayquaza (#130): encountered in the Hyperspace Sky Pillar after Groudon and Kyogre.
  • Meltan (#123): obtained through a post-Rayquaza side mission in Rouge Sector 1.
  • Melmetal (#124): obtained through the follow-up Hyperspace event after catching Meltan.
  • Magearna (#131): obtained through a post-Rayquaza event requiring 999 Mega Shards.
  • Hoopa (#121): obtained after the post-Rayquaza Prison Bottle event and its resulting Hyperspace encounter.
  • Volcanion (#114): obtained through a post-Rayquaza Pokémon Research Lab event.
  • Genesect (#120): buy all four Genesect Drives for 540 Mega Shards each, then follow the resulting information to Wild Zone 13.
  • Marshadow (#122): obtained through the post-Rayquaza shadow event in Rouge Sector 1.
  • Zeraora (#132): obtained through the post-Rayquaza Plasma Donut event and the Rogue Mega Zeraora encounter.

These Pokémon should not be treated as missing Wild Zone spawns. Progress the relevant story, side mission, research event, or shard requirement instead.

Evolution and regional-form traps

  • Check regional forms: the list distinguishes relevant Kanto, Alolan, and Galarian lines. Catching the wrong regional form may not satisfy the intended entry or evolution requirement.
  • Porygon’s line: Porygon2 and Porygon-Z require link trades with their appropriate evolution items. Linking Cord is not available in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, so the single-player Linking Cord method from Pokémon Legends: Arceus does not apply. (Evolution and form notes)
  • Sirfetch’d: use the Galarian Farfetch’d evolution condition; ordinary leveling will not produce it.

Do you need to own Mega Dimension?

No. The old claim that every one of the 132 entries requires personal ownership of the DLC is outdated. Nintendo’s Ver. 2.0.0 notes state that players without the DLC can encounter or obtain the added Pokémon through communication features. You still need access to the appropriate communication feature or another player’s encounter, while the DLC itself is required for the Mega Dimension story and its Hyperspace activities. Problems that can block completion

Side Mission 188 will not progress

Update to Ver. 2.0.2. Version 2.0.1 fixed an issue in which the mission could remain uncleared after reaching the maximum number of Survey Points. Nintendo’s stated fix for affected players is to enter and exit Hyperspace after updating.

The Special Scan option is missing

Special Scans do not unlock immediately when you enter the DLC. Complete Hyperspace Mission 12, the required post-Rayquaza progression, and Side Mission 188, “Start Special Scanning!”

The desired five-star zone disappeared

Do not start another Special Scan while a five-star Special-Scan zone is active. A new scan overwrites the existing zone.

The portal does not show the Pokémon you want

Ordinary Wild Zone contents are affected by zone type, star level, time of day, and the generated spawn combination. Mixed-type zones can vary in both order and species combination. Use the preview screen, then try a different portal or time.

The team is underpowered

Five-star portals recommend level 200, and Pokémon in Hyperspace can exceed level 100. Raise an appropriate team before spending valuable donuts on the highest-star portals.

Other Hyperspace visual or weather issues

Ver. 2.0.1 addressed Pokémon facing or moving in the wrong direction, weather remaining sunny instead of changing, and previously obtained shiny Pokémon failing to register in the Mega Evolution Pokédex after obtaining the relevant Mega Stone. Update before troubleshooting these problems.
