If the conditions are met, it evolves into Runerigus.
How to evolve Galarian Yamask
- Make sure the Pokémon is Galarian Yamask.
- In battle, have it lose at least 49 HP, and make sure it survives. The threshold is stated by Serebii and GameWith.
- Go to Dusty Bowl in the Wild Area.
- Walk beneath the stone archway. Yamask should evolve into Runerigus if the conditions are satisfied.
Where is the Dusty Bowl arch?
The landmark is the stone archway in Dusty Bowl, an area of the Wild Area. The evolution trigger is specific to this location; passing under a different arch or landmark is not the described method. See Serebii’s Dusty Bowl reference for the location.
Why won’t Yamask evolve?
- It is the wrong form: the method is for Galarian Yamask, and the result is Runerigus. The official Pokémon card database also identifies Galarian Yamask as the form Galarian Runerigus evolves from.
- It did not take enough damage: Yamask needs to lose at least 49 HP. Serebii specifies damage in one battle. GameWith discusses damage across encounters and healing differently, so the safest approach is to meet the threshold in one battle rather than rely on damage carrying over.
- It fainted: Yamask must survive the qualifying damage.
- You used another landmark: go beneath the stone arch in Dusty Bowl, not another arch elsewhere.
If it still does not evolve, check the form, the amount of damage Yamask took while surviving, and that you passed beneath the Dusty Bowl arch. For broader context on Galarian forms in the games, see The Pokémon Company’s Sword and Shield site.
