To make Urshifu capable of Gigantamaxing in Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield, prepare Max Soup at the Master Dojo on the Isle of Armor using three Max Mushrooms and one Max Honey, then give the soup to Urshifu. The Max Honey is the extra ingredient required for Urshifu’s recipe.
What you need before making Max Soup
- Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield and its corresponding Isle of Armor Expansion Pass content. The Expansion Pass adds content to its matching game; it is not included simply by owning the base game. The official Expansion Pass announcement describes the two game-specific passes.
- Access to the Isle of Armor. The official game page says you can begin exploring it after reaching the Wild Area in the main story.
- Three Max Mushrooms and one Max Honey.
How to make Urshifu Gigantamax
- Collect three Max Mushrooms. Serebii lists Brawlers’ Cave, Courageous Cavern, Forest of Focus, and Warm-Up Tunnel as places to find them. Isle of Armor Max Raid Battles can also contribute to their appearance. See Serebii’s Max Soup guide for its collection notes.
- Get one Max Honey. It is the additional ingredient specified for Urshifu’s Max Soup.
- Take the ingredients to the Master Dojo and have Max Soup prepared.
- Give the soup to Urshifu. Max Soup grants eligible Pokémon the ability to Gigantamax, according to The Pokémon Company International.
Which G-Max move Urshifu gets
Urshifu’s G-Max move depends on its fighting style. The official Gigantamax Urshifu page identifies the moves and their types:

Both moves can deal damage through defensive moves such as Protect and Max Guard.
