When did the Pokémon TCG Mega Evolution set come out?
The Pokémon Company International announced October 10, 2025, as the US release date for Mega Evolution in a September 4, 2025 article. That date is in the past. The announcement’s date should not be treated as a universal launch date: release schedules may differ by market, and the sources cited here do not establish a country-by-country calendar. For local timing, check the official Pokémon channel or retailers in your region.

Can you still preorder Pokémon Mega Evolution?
No. Preorders were associated with the 2025 launch, so the preorder window has passed. Current stock and prices depend on live retailer listings; the available official information does not establish present inventory or a current price. Check Pokémon Center and local game stores, as well as other Pokémon TCG retailers, and confirm the listing is for the original Mega Evolution expansion rather than a later set in the series.
When comparing a sealed listing with individual cards, verify the seller, language, product condition, and total price. For sealed products, compare pack count and any included accessories or promo cards; calculate per-pack cost from the listing’s current price if that helps you choose. No specific current listing or price is verified here.

What cards are in the Mega Evolution set?
Pokémon describes the expansion as having over 180 cards. Its official set page also gives these high-level counts, but not a full numbered checklist:
- Nearly a dozen Mega Evolution Pokémon ex.
- More than 15 Trainer cards.
- More than 50 specially illustrated Pokémon and Trainer cards.
Pokémon’s official preview names Mega Venusaur ex, Mega Kangaskhan ex, Pachirisu, and Grafaiai. The set description also highlights Mega Lucario ex and Mega Gardevoir ex. These are examples, not a complete list of the expansion’s cards; card numbers and a full checklist are not established by the official pages cited here.

Mega Evolution is both the name of the 2025 expansion and part of a continuing series. Pokémon later announced Mega Evolution—Perfect Order, available March 27, 2026, and covered products for Mega Evolution—Chaos Rising in May 2026. Those are separate expansions, not additions to the original set’s card list.
Product contents are set-specific. For example, Pokémon’s Chaos Rising roundup describes a 36-pack booster display box and an Elite Trainer Box with nine packs and accessories; its Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box variant has 11 packs and an additional promo. Those details apply to Chaos Rising, not automatically to the 2025 Mega Evolution products. Check the product name and contents on the exact listing before buying.
