For Android, download Pokémon TCG Pocket from Google Play—not an APK mirror. Pokémon’s official pages direct Android players to Google Play and iPhone or iPad players to the App Store; no standalone APK download was identified on the official pages reviewed. Use the store listing published by The Pokémon Company, and link your account before reinstalling or changing devices if you want to protect your save.
Where to download Pokémon TCG Pocket
The official Pokémon TCG Pocket website directs players to Google Play on Android and the App Store on Apple devices. The Google Play listing identifies the developer as The Pokémon Company. No standalone APK download was identified on the official Pokémon game site or support pages reviewed.

- Android: Install from the Google Play listing and check that The Pokémon Company is named as the developer.
- iPhone or iPad: Install from the App Store listing. An APK is an Android app package, not an iOS installation file; do not use an APK converter or an unknown configuration profile.
Pokémon TCG Pocket is a different app from Pokémon TCG Live, so make sure the store listing is for Pocket. The stores describe Pocket as free to download with in-app purchases; Google Play notes that purchases include random items.
Check Android compatibility first
Pokémon’s gameplay FAQ, reviewed July 16, 2026, lists these recommended Android specifications. They are not a guarantee that the game will run on every device.

Meeting these recommendations does not ensure compatibility. Modified devices may fail to launch, and a newly released Android version may not be supported immediately. See Pokémon’s device requirements and gameplay FAQ for the current official guidance.
Install Pokémon TCG Pocket from Google Play
- Open the Google Play Store on your Android phone or tablet.
- Search for Pokémon TCG Pocket – Card Game. You can also open the official Google Play listing.
- Confirm the developer is The Pokémon Company and that the listing is the game, not a guide, clone, or unrelated app.
- Tap Install. Keep a stable Wi-Fi or cellular connection while the game and its initial data download.
- Open the game and complete the region selection, age confirmation, terms, and privacy screens.
- Link an account if you may switch devices or reinstall. From the main menu, go to Menu > Other > Account and choose a supported account.
Keep more free storage available than the store’s displayed download size: Pokémon says the game also needs room for save data, and low storage can prevent updates or launches. The displayed app size can vary, so there is no single fixed download figure to rely on.
If the game does not appear in Google Play
Store availability can depend on country or region. A missing listing can also mean the device is incompatible, the operating system is unsupported, parental controls or account settings hide the app, or Google Play is temporarily having trouble. Rooted or modified devices and unsupported emulators can introduce additional compatibility problems.
- Open the official Pokémon TCG Pocket site and follow its Google Play link, rather than a search result for an APK.
- Check Android version, 64-bit support, Vulkan capability, RAM, and GPU class against Pokémon’s recommended specifications.
- Update Google Play Store and Google Play services, then restart the device.
- Check available storage and try a stable network connection.
- If the device appears to meet the recommendations but the listing remains unavailable, contact Pokémon Support or the device manufacturer.
Changing a store-account country or using a VPN is not a guaranteed way to get access. For a documented network error, Pokémon specifically advises against connecting through a VPN.

The update is not available yet
Pokémon says a released update can take approximately 24 hours to become downloadable through Google Play or the App Store. Check the official store again, restart the store app or device, and avoid installing a mirror APK to get the update sooner. If the delay continues or the game remains in an update loop, use the official troubleshooting FAQ.
The game freezes or crashes
- Confirm the connection is stable and free storage for the game and its save data.
- Close other apps, then restart Pokémon TCG Pocket.
- Restart the device if the problem persists.
- On Android, clear the app cache: Settings > Apps > Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket > Storage & cache > Clear cache. Menu names can vary by device.
Clear cache is not the same as deleting save data. Do not choose a save-data deletion option as routine troubleshooting. Before uninstalling, read the save-transfer steps below; an unlinked save may be difficult or impossible to recover. Protect your save before reinstalling or changing devices
Pokémon says you must link an account before transferring save data to another device. Supported options include a Nintendo Account, Google Account, and—on iOS—Apple Account. From the main menu, use Menu > Other > Account, select an account, and enter its login details.
On a new device, Pokémon documents this transfer route: Country/Region Selection > Age Confirmation > Terms of Use and Privacy Notice > Transfer Existing Save Data, then choose the account linked to the save. A linked save can be used on multiple devices, but not simultaneously. Pokémon also says save data cannot be merged and deleting it is permanent. Follow the account-link and data-transfer instructions before you remove the app.

Why an unofficial Pokémon TCG Pocket APK is risky
A file on an APK site should not be treated as official because it uses Pokémon branding or copies the game’s package name. Pokémon’s official distribution pages do not verify a third-party file’s authenticity, whether it has been modified, or whether it will receive safe and reliable updates. A particular APK cannot be called infected without evidence about that file, but a sideloaded copy can carry real uncertainty around security, updates, login, and save-data integrity.
- A package may be modified to add malware, intrusive advertising, or unexpected permissions.
- A repackaged app may be signed differently, outdated, unable to connect to current servers, or a fake installer that fetches another app.
- Promises of free Poké Gold, unlocked cards, a cracked Premium Pass, or unlimited packs are warning signs—not official offers.
- A sideloaded install may complicate updates, purchases, or account recovery even if it opens successfully.
Use the official store, keep Google Play Protect enabled, and do not disable device protections to install a game. Never enter Nintendo, Google, Apple, or payment credentials into an untrusted installer or login screen.
If you already installed an APK
- Uninstall the untrusted app and run your device’s security scan.
- If you entered a password or payment details into an untrusted screen, change the relevant credentials through the service’s official app or website and review account activity.
- Install Pocket from the official store. If the save matters, use the official app and contact Pokémon Support for account-specific help.
