Pokémon TCG Pocket is no longer in preregistration. The Android version launched globally on October 30, 2024, so the correct action today is to install it from Google Play. Use the official listing, verify that the publisher is The Pokémon Company and that the package is jp.pokemon.pokemontcgp, then check your phone against the game’s recommended specifications.
Open the official Pokémon TCG Pocket Google Play listing.
How to install Pokémon TCG Pocket on Android
- Open the Google Play Store.
- Search for Pokémon TCG Pocket.
- Select Pokémon TCG Pocket – Card Game.
- Confirm the developer is The Pokémon Company and the package is
jp.pokemon.pokemontcgp. - Tap Install.
- Launch the game and allow its additional data and updates to download.
- Complete the tutorial and account-linking prompts.
- Link your save data before changing phones, deleting the app or reinstalling it.
Avoid APK mirrors and unofficial “generators.” The official Play listing is safer for updates, account recovery and compatibility.

These are recommendations, not a guarantee that every qualifying phone will run the game. Modified or rooted devices can fail to launch, some otherwise suitable models may be unsupported, and newly released Android versions may take time to receive support. If the listing is hidden, Google Play may be identifying an unsupported device or region, or may not yet have refreshed its compatibility data.

What Pokémon TCG Pocket is
Pocket is a mobile collecting and battling game built around a streamlined version of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. It is not a replacement for the full tabletop ruleset.
- Open two free booster packs each day.
- Use Wonder Pick to obtain cards from featured selections.
- Collect immersive cards, then display them in digital binders and display boards.
- Trade cards, join events and battle in casual or ranked modes.
- Use Auto-Battle, Auto-Build and Rental Decks for quicker play.
The live Google Play listing includes in-app purchases and currently references content from the Ruler of the Skies expansion. It showed an August 4, 2026 update and 50M+ downloads when checked. Availability, content and store details can vary by country.

The app is free to start, but Google Play labels it as including purchases and random items. Optional Poké Gold can reduce waits for packs or Wonder Picks. The September 2024 launch announcement described a U.S. Premium Pass price of $9.99 per month with a 14-day first-time trial; that was a launch-era price, so check the in-app Premium Pass screen for the current local amount. Premium benefits included an extra daily pack, premium missions and tickets, while premium promo cards had alternate illustrations rather than stronger attacks or Abilities.
Pocket and Pokémon TCG Live are different apps

Installing TCG Live will not give you Pocket. See Pokémon’s separate TCG Live installation information if that is the game you want.

If installation or launch fails
The listing shows “Pre-register” or no install button
That was the prelaunch state. Preregistration opened on Google Play in August 2024, followed by a New Zealand soft launch on September 26 and the announced global launch on October 30. In the current listing, look for Install, not Pre-register.
The app is unavailable in Google Play
- Check the Play account’s country or region.
- Confirm Android 7.0+, 64-bit architecture, 3GB RAM, Vulkan and the recommended GPU class.
- Install system and Google Play updates, then restart the phone.
- Allow time for Google Play to refresh compatibility after an operating-system update.
The game will not open
- Use automatic date and time; manually changing the clock can cause errors and does not speed pack or Wonder Pick timers.
- Update Android and Google Play services where available.
- Use a stable connection and sufficient free storage.
- Avoid rooted, modified or otherwise unsupported device environments.
- Only reinstall after linking save data to an account.
A purchase or Premium Pass is missing
For missing Poké Gold or another purchase, open Home → Shop → Purchase Poké Gold, tap the information button in the upper-right, choose Complete Purchase, and check Google Play purchase history. Contact Pokémon Support if Google Play shows a completed transaction but the items are still absent.

Premium Pass access follows the Google Account used to subscribe and install the app, not merely the save file. Sign in with the original Google Account and use the purchase-transfer process when changing devices or accounts. Uninstalling Pocket does not cancel the subscription; cancel it through Google Play.
What the original 2024 registration news meant
The August 19, 2024 announcement covered genuine Android preregistration through Google Play. Pokémon later confirmed a September 26 New Zealand soft launch and an October 30, 2024 global launch. Preregistration was never required to play; after launch, anyone with a supported device could install the app directly.
