The leak did not confirm the full lineup or release timing; those details came later from the official announcement.
What the dataminers found
On May 7, 2025, Insider Gaming reported that Pokémon analyst and leaker @3clipse_tt had spotted an “IsUltraBeast” check in Pokémon TCG Pocket’s files. The line showed the value “false,” which suggested the game could identify whether a card belonged to the Ultra Beast category.
On May 6, @3clipse_tt wrote: “Looks like they added the “IsUltraBeast” check for cards in the game, so it’s likely the next Set will include Ultra Beasts!” That was an interpretation of a game-file clue, not confirmation from the developer or publisher. The string alone did not establish when the check would be used, which cards would appear, or whether the game would include every Ultra Beast.
What the leak did—and did not—predict
The dataminer also suggested there were “10 UBs in total, excluding Poipole,” and said that could support a large set. That was @3clipse_tt’s estimate as quoted by Insider Gaming, not an independently verified roster count or an official plan. The leak’s strongest signal was narrower: Pocket appeared to have a way to classify Ultra Beast cards.

Extradimensional Crisis confirmed the broad prediction
On May 22, 2025, The Pokémon Company International announced Extradimensional Crisis, confirming that the expansion would bring Ultra Beasts to Pokémon TCG Pocket. The announcement described an expansion with over 100 new cards, including Pokémon ex, Trainer cards, and Ultra Beasts such as Buzzwole and Guzzlord.
The company set the expansion’s arrival for May 28, 2025, at 11:00 p.m. PDT. In a follow-up news post dated May 29, it described the Ultra Beasts’ arrival as their debut in Pocket and named Nihilego, Buzzwole, and Blacephalon. Those official details confirmed the central direction of the May leak, but they did not establish that every Ultra Beast would be included.

Why the timing matters
“Next set” referred to the upcoming release in the May 2025 news cycle, not a future expansion. As of October 8, 2026, the leak is best understood as a historical prediction that was broadly borne out by Extradimensional Crisis—not as current news about an unreleased set.
