Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves are announced for a simultaneous worldwide release in 2027, exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2. The official announcement gives no exact release date. These are the new games commonly framed as Pokémon’s “Gen 10,” though the official announcement calls them all-new entries in the Pokémon video game series rather than numbering them as a generation.

When do Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves come out?

The Pokémon Company says the games will launch simultaneously worldwide in 2027. It has not announced a month or day. Nintendo’s March 2, 2026 announcement also confirms the 2027 release window and Switch 2 exclusivity.

The Pokémon Company’s announcement states: “The Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves games, all-new entries in the Pokémon video game series, will be released exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 in a simultaneous worldwide release in 2027.” Nintendo similarly says: “Stay tuned for more information about Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves, releasing exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027.”

What are Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves?

They are the official titles of two all-new Pokémon video game entries. Both are announced as Nintendo Switch 2 exclusives, so the announcement does not list Nintendo Switch as a supported platform. The “Gen 10” label is a common way to describe their place in the series, but it is not the wording used on the official announcement page.
