A VICE report published October 3, 2026 says alleged beta dialogue for Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves describes a region of around 100 islands and a battle gimmick called Majinization. Both remain unverified leak claims: The Pokémon Company has not confirmed the island count, Majinization, or the other reported story details. What is official is that the games are planned as Nintendo Switch 2 exclusives for a simultaneous worldwide release in 2027.
What the leak reportedly reveals
VICE attributes the claims to purported beta dialogue that surfaced online. A Reddit post dated October 2, 2026 reproduces some of that text, but the post does not authenticate the files. The reported details should therefore be treated as claims about an alleged build, not confirmed features of the finished games.
A region of around 100 islands
The purported dialogue describes a region with around 100 islands and a culture shaped by 3,000 years of history. These figures appear in the leaked text reported by VICE; they are not official setting statistics. The Pokémon Company’s announcement describes windswept islands and a vast ocean but gives no island count or regional-history figure.
Majinization and the Majinize Band
The reported text names a battle mechanic called Majinization, apparently activated with an item called the Majinize Band. It reportedly mentions a Majinize Research Lab and suggests Gym Leaders use the mechanic. The available excerpts do not explain what Majinization does, how it changes battles, or what advantages it provides. It is not confirmed in the official announcement.

A possible companion named Konetsu
VICE also reports that a Pokémon called Konetsu may accompany the player. The available excerpts do not establish its appearance, type, or whether it is a box-art Legendary. The official announcement does not name Konetsu.
Is Majinization confirmed?
No. Majinization appears only in the alleged beta dialogue described by VICE, not in the official game announcement. The report says the text may date to a 2023–2024 build; if so, it may not reflect the games as they stand now or what will ship. The source files have not been authenticated in the material available here, so even the build date is reported rather than independently verified.
