Roblox’s creator spotlight confirms that Halloween updates came in three parts and mentions potion making, trick-or-treating, Candy, Witch-class unlocks, and animal customization. An unofficial guide identifies Potion Making as the second update and gives October 25, 2025, as its date.
The spotlight also reported that the game had reached a peak concurrent-user count of 14 million since launching in June 2025. That figure describes the game, not the potion feature or the update’s popularity.
How to make potions in 99 Nights in the Forest
- Find the cauldron near the campfire.
- Read the recipe displayed by the cauldron and collect the ingredients it requests.
- Add the requested ingredients to brew the potion. The guide warns that incorrect ingredients disappear and the cauldron knocks the player back.
- Use the resulting potion, keeping in mind that its effect may be beneficial or disruptive.
Follow the recipe shown in the game rather than relying on a fixed recipe from a guide. One historical example for a transformation potion is one Berry, one Dripleaf, and two Mackerel; that example should not be treated as a universal or currently active formula.

What do the potions do?
The described results include animal transformations and spawning coins, as well as disruptive effects such as a ball and chain or a pumpkin-face obstruction over the screen. The guide does not establish a reliable way to choose a particular outcome, so brewing was presented as experimentation with a risk of an unwanted effect.
What did the Witch class and Halloween Shop add?
Witch class
An unofficial guide listed the Witch as a class unlocked for 900 Candy and described it as using throwable potions. A separate class reference says throws could damage enemies or apply random effects, with later progression adding small ally healing and poison effects.
