For a YouTube stream from PRISM Live Studio on Jio Fiber, choose settings for your target resolution, frame rate and encoder codec, then verify that your actual upload connection can sustain the bitrate. For H.264, YouTube recommends 10 Mbps for 1080p at 30 fps or 12 Mbps at 1080p60; PRISM’s general guidance is lower, so use YouTube’s codec-specific recommendations as the starting point for a YouTube broadcast. Jio advertises symmetric upload and download tiers, but the plan name alone cannot confirm the speed or stability at your home.

Check your Jio Fiber upload before choosing a bitrate

A live encoder sends video from your computer to YouTube, so upload capacity—not just download speed—matters. Jio’s plan comparison lists symmetric tiers, meaning the advertised upload and download rates match. Those are plan figures, not measurements of your connection at the time or place you stream.

Jio tariff tier Advertised upload / download Jio all-India report: offered typical upload Jio all-India report: 90th-percentile measured upload
30 Mbps 30 / 30 Mbps 24 Mbps 29 Mbps
100 Mbps 100 / 100 Mbps 80 Mbps 92 Mbps
150 Mbps 150 / 150 Mbps 120 Mbps 136 Mbps
300 Mbps Not listed on the cited comparison page 240 Mbps 276 Mbps
500 Mbps Not listed on the cited comparison page 400 Mbps 456 Mbps

The report figures are Jio’s all-India wireline QoS report for the quarter ending September 2025, not a guarantee for an individual subscriber. Jio’s plan offerings and availability can differ by location and change over time; its Mumbai page describes local offers and advises checking area availability. See Jio Fiber Plans Comparison, Jio’s Mumbai broadband plans, and the September 2025 wireline QoS report.

Measure the connection you will actually stream on

  1. Run an upload speed test at the computer and location you plan to use. Repeat at a time representative of your broadcast; an advertised plan speed is not a substitute for this measurement.
  2. Use a wired connection if available, and avoid saturating the connection with uploads or other high-bandwidth activity during the test and stream.
  3. Leave headroom between measured upload capacity and encoder bitrate. A stream set close to the measured maximum has little room for ordinary variation.
  4. Before the public broadcast, test with representative gameplay motion and audio, then check YouTube’s stream health and messages. YouTube explicitly recommends testing upload bitrate and a representative stream before going live.

Choose YouTube settings for your resolution and codec

YouTube’s recommended bitrate depends on codec, resolution and frame rate. The table gives the cited H.264 recommendations and the AV1/H.265 ranges for common outputs. Confirm the current YouTube encoder table and the options available in your PRISM version before selecting a codec, since software and platform support can change.

These are YouTube’s cited recommendations, not guarantees of stream quality or a promise that every PRISM device and configuration offers every codec or output. For higher resolutions, check YouTube’s full current table before configuring the encoder. Read YouTube’s live encoder settings, bitrates and resolutions.

PRISM’s general guidance and why it differs

PRISM’s FAQ gives broad broadcasting guidance of 30 fps, 1–2 second keyframes, and bitrate ranges of 1–2 Mbps for 360p, 2–4 Mbps for 720p, and 4–6 Mbps for 1080p. These general figures do not replace YouTube’s codec-specific recommendations. For example, YouTube’s H.264 recommendation for 1080p30 is 10 Mbps, rather than PRISM’s broad 4–6 Mbps range. When streaming to YouTube, match the selected codec and output to YouTube’s applicable guidance, then test the result.

PRISM’s FAQ also describes adaptive bitrate: enabling it can help maintain a stable broadcast by adjusting bitrate and FPS as network conditions change, but image quality may be reduced. Treat it as a stability trade-off, not a way to guarantee a particular resolution or quality. See the PRISM Live Studio FAQ.

Configure PRISM and verify the YouTube stream

PRISM’s exact screen labels and available controls can vary by platform and version. Use the following settings as targets in the live-broadcast output controls, and confirm the resulting stream in YouTube Studio before relying on it for a full session.

  1. Select the YouTube destination and stream key. In PRISM’s streaming destination/account setup, choose YouTube and connect the account or enter the stream key using the current PRISM workflow. Treat the key as a password: do not show it in a capture, share it, or publish it. If it is exposed, replace or reset it through YouTube’s live control room before streaming again.
  2. Choose resolution and frame rate. For a first test, 720p at 30 fps is a less demanding target than 1080p60. If your computer and measured connection handle the test reliably, move to 1080p30 or 1080p60 according to the YouTube table. Higher resolution and frame rate require more network and computer capacity.
  3. Set the encoder codec and bitrate. If using H.264, start with YouTube’s recommendation for the selected output—for example, 10 Mbps for 1080p30 or 12 Mbps for 1080p60. If using AV1 or H.265, use the applicable YouTube range shown for that output and confirm both PRISM and your stream setup support the codec.
  4. Set keyframes to 1–2 seconds. This is PRISM’s general recommendation. If PRISM presents the interval in frames rather than seconds, use a value consistent with the chosen frame rate and verify the units shown by the app.
  5. Check audio and gameplay capture. Confirm that the game, microphone and other intended audio sources are present at reasonable levels, and that the captured image is the intended game or scene. Test movement and sound, not a static preview alone.
  6. Start an unlisted or otherwise appropriate test broadcast. Check YouTube’s stream-health status and messages while the test is running. If it reports instability, lower bitrate or output demands and repeat the test.
  7. Go public only after the test is stable. Keep YouTube’s stream-health view available during the broadcast so you can spot dropped frames, connection trouble or other warnings while there is still time to respond.

For PRISM desktop performance issues, its guide says that higher resolution, bitrate and FPS can strain both the computer and network; reducing those demands can improve performance. Consult PRISM’s desktop performance guide. PRISM’s mobile stability advice is also available at 10 Tips for Better Stability and Quality.

Copyright and YouTube channel considerations

PRISM and a fast connection do not grant rights to the game footage, music, overlays or other material in a broadcast. Check that you have permission to use each element, including any music captured from a game or another application, and review YouTube’s applicable copyright rules before streaming. YouTube’s monetization and reused-content policies are separate from whether an encoder can send a technically healthy stream; do not assume that looping or rebroadcasting material qualifies for monetization. The supplied source set does not establish a specific eligibility result for an individual channel or stream. StreamNeo provides a copyright safety checklist as a planning aid, not a substitute for rights or platform-policy review.

Troubleshoot a struggling PRISM stream

Symptom Likely issue What to try
YouTube reports unstable upload or the stream drops Available upload capacity may be varying or insufficient for the selected bitrate. Repeat an upload test under representative conditions, reduce bitrate and/or output resolution, and check YouTube stream health again. PRISM’s adaptive bitrate option may favor stability at the cost of image quality.
Video is choppy or frames are lost The selected resolution, bitrate or FPS may be straining the network or computer. Lower one output demand at a time—first try a lower resolution or FPS—and retest. Check PRISM’s performance guide for desktop guidance.
The stream is stable but looks soft The bitrate may be too low for the chosen resolution, motion level or codec. Compare the selected codec/output against YouTube’s recommendation. Raise bitrate only if the measured upload has ample headroom; otherwise reduce resolution or frame rate.
Audio is missing or unintended audio is present The wrong input may be selected, muted or captured alongside the game. Check PRISM’s audio source and levels in a private test, listen to the result, and verify the intended microphone and game audio before going public.
YouTube cannot receive the stream The destination, stream key or live setup may be incorrect or stale. Recheck the selected YouTube destination and current stream key, keeping it private. If a key was exposed, reset it in YouTube and update PRISM before retrying.

Or let it run in the cloud

PRISM is for broadcasting a live capture from your setup. StreamNeo is a different option: it keeps a YouTube channel live from videos you upload; it does not broadcast a live camera or gameplay capture. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. StreamNeo loops the uploaded videos from the cloud, so your computer and home connection do not have to stay on.

  • Nothing has to stay powered on at home.
  • Each slot streams your uploads as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot; there are no quality tiers.
  • Automatic recovery is included if YouTube drops the stream.
  • The first day is free with no card required; it is one free day per account.
