Project L.3.3.T., later known as Project L33T, is no longer in active development, and its Steam sales have stopped. In a Steam announcement dated “25 Sep” (inferred to be September 2026 from the page’s surrounding updates), the team said existing owners could continue playing and that servers would remain online “for now”; it set no shutdown date. The game began as a PC-focused tactical extraction shooter revealed by Holmgard Games in February 2024.
What is Project L.3.3.T.?
Holmgard Games revealed Project L.3.3.T. on February 27, 2024, as a hardcore first-person PvEvP extraction shooter for PC. The pitch combined encounters with AI-controlled enemies and rival players: enter dangerous areas, gather loot, and try to extract safely. The studio’s original description named PC as the main platform and also listed Xbox and PS5, but the available official information does not establish that console versions launched. Holmgard Games’ site reflects the original platform description, not a current release guarantee.
Development director Pavel Pletnev described the concept to GamesBeat as “our take on a PvEvP survival extraction shooter, defined by games such as Escape from Tarkov as well as games like DayZ and Stalker.” That comparison indicates the design inspirations he cited at reveal; it is not evidence of equivalent features, quality, or performance.
What happened to the game?
The clearest current status comes from the Project L33T Steam announcements page. Its notice says: “We have made the difficult decision to end active development and stop selling the game on Steam.” The announcement is dated “25 Sep” without a year; because the same page includes April, June, and July 2026 updates, September 2026 is the likely year, but that date is inferred.

How the original design changed
In an April 30, 2026 Steam update, the Project L33T team said it had taken over a project originally released by Holmgard Games and was redesigning it as a persistent open-world extraction shooter. The team described an Early Access world of approximately 5 to 6 square kilometers and a separate PvE mode. Those details are the team’s description of the redesign, not independently measured specifications or confirmation of a current release plan.

- ENHANCED STRATEGY: Elevate your Project L experience with strategic goals that test your finesse.
- EARN CREDITS: Perform finesses to earn valuable credits and gain an advantage during your turn.
- EXPAND YOUR GAME: The Finesse expansion adds depth to Project L by introducing new ways to play and score points.
- COMPROMISE OR DEVIATE: Completing goals may require strategic compromises or deviations from your original strategy.
- FAST-PACED FUN: Enjoy the same fast-paced gameplay of Project L with added strategic depth.
This was a notable change from the 2024 pitch’s focus on extracting from hazardous areas: the later update described a persistent world rather than short, isolated matches. The September status notice says active development has since ended, so the redesign should be understood as an intervening plan rather than a promise of future delivery.
What Holmgard Games originally planned
The 2024 reveal presented a set of survival and combat systems. They were announced design features, not confirmation that every system reached a finished or currently playable state.

If you already own Project L33T, the team’s notice says you can keep playing while its servers remain online. Because “for now” comes without a shutdown date, check the official Steam announcements page for any later service update before relying on ongoing access.
If you do not own it, Steam sales have stopped according to the announcement. The available information does not confirm another authorized way to buy or play the game, a console release, or a relaunch. The original early-access timing and playtest plans reported in 2024 are historical, not evidence of present availability.
