PUBG’s Erangel Classic return was a limited 2024 event, not an upcoming map rotation. It replaced regular Erangel in Normal Match for a short, staggered period on PC and console, with later access through Arcade. Every announced service window has now ended.
When was Erangel Classic available?
PUBG announced the return on April 24, 2024. The PC and console schedules differed, and the mode affected which dates applied.
| Platform | Normal Match | Custom Match | Arcade extension |
|---|---|---|---|
| PC | After maintenance on May 14 to May 28, 2024, at 07:00 UTC | May 14 until June 12, 2024 maintenance | May 29 to June 12, 2024, bounded by maintenance |
| Console | After maintenance on May 23 to June 6, 2024, at 07:00 UTC | May 23 until June 20, 2024 maintenance | June 6 to June 20, 2024, bounded by maintenance |
The Normal Match schedule and feature details appear in PUBG’s April 24 announcement and Update 29.2 patch notes. PUBG outlined the Arcade extension in its May 27 follow-up. Because the starts and some ends were tied to maintenance, the schedule should not be read as exact identical two-week windows across platforms.
Did Erangel Classic replace the regular map?
Yes, temporarily: during each platform’s Normal Match service period, Erangel Classic replaced the current Erangel map in that mode. It was a time-limited rotation, not a permanent change to PUBG’s standard Erangel. Custom Match and the later Arcade extension provided separate, longer opportunities to play the classic version.
