Quarantine Zone: The Last Check is a single-player PC simulation about screening survivors and keeping a failing checkpoint running during an undead outbreak. Steam users rated it Very Positive overall in the October 8, 2026 snapshot, but those ratings alone cannot tell you whether its inspection, resource-management and defense loops suit you.
What do you do in Quarantine Zone: The Last Check?
You command a checkpoint in a collapsing city. The central task is to inspect survivors for signs of infection and decide who can pass, while managing scarce supplies and trying to keep the undead from overrunning the base. Steam describes it as an indie simulation and strategy game, lists single-player, and tags it with resource management, choices matter and base building. Steam’s store listing provides the official feature and genre details.
PC Gamer’s review characterizes the game as a first-person simulation: survivor examinations sit alongside developing medical tools, base management and defense sequences. That gives a useful picture of the range of activities, though the official description and a review summary cannot establish how balanced or engaging those systems will feel to every player.
Is Quarantine Zone: The Last Check worth playing?
It is most likely to appeal if you enjoy deliberate inspection and triage, decisions under resource pressure, and the added tension of defending a base. If you want a pure checkpoint simulator without combat interruptions, or a deep strategy game whose every management decision has clearly demonstrated long-term consequences, the available information is not enough to promise that experience.

#1 Best Overall
Steam’s English-language review snapshot, accessed October 8, 2026, showed Very Positive: 5,797 reviews, 80% positive. Its recent-review snapshot showed Mostly Positive: 285 reviews, 79% positive. These are changing storefront figures, not permanent scores or a measure of sales, player count, or critic consensus. Check the current Steam listing for updated ratings before deciding.
For a more useful read than a single aggregate score, look at whether reviewers discuss the parts you care about. In particular, compare accounts of how varied survivor inspections feel, whether resource and base choices matter, how frequently defense sequences interrupt checkpoint work, and how well the game performs on comparable PC hardware. Published requirements are a baseline, not an independent performance test.
