Its two configurations used AMD Embedded G-Series APUs: a single-core 1.5GHz option and a dual-core 1.6GHz option, both with integrated Radeon HD 6310 graphics. The 1.6GHz part was the AMD E-350; the 1.5GHz part was the E-240.
What the QXi-200 was
EE Times reported on 24 January 2011 that Quixant had launched the QXi-200 as a gaming controller using AMD’s new Fusion technology. Fusion was AMD’s branding for combining CPU cores and Radeon graphics on one chip. The relevant low-power platform was codenamed Brazos, and its E-Series APUs were built for compact systems as well as notebooks and all-in-ones.
The QXi-200 was an embedded gaming-machine controller, not a consumer gaming console or a standalone processor. The reported single-core and dual-core choices let a machine maker select between the E-240 and E-350 configurations. Both integrated Radeon HD 6310 graphics, but the processor core count and clock differed.
How the two processor options compare
| QXi-200 option | AMD APU | CPU cores and clock | Graphics | Thermal design power |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Single-core | E-240 (Zacate) | 1 core, 1.5GHz | Integrated Radeon HD 6310 | 18W, as listed by AMD in its January 2011 Brazos launch material |
| Dual-core | E-350 (Zacate) | 2 cores, 1.6GHz base clock; 2 threads | Integrated Radeon HD 6310 | 18W, as listed by AMD in its January 2011 Brazos launch material |
AMD’s current E-350 specifications also list 2MB of L2 cache, a 40nm manufacturing process, an FT1 BGA package, DDR3/DDR3L memory support and DirectX 11 support. The FT1 BGA detail matters when looking for a replacement: this is a soldered-down embedded part, not a conventional desktop CPU intended to be removed from a socket.

Graphics, displays and cabinet design
EE Times reported that the Radeon HD 6310 graphics engine supported DirectX 11, OpenGL 4.0 and OpenCL. It also described the QXi-200 as capable of driving two independent high-resolution digital monitors. The report does not specify exact monitor resolutions or the connector types, so those details should be checked against the particular controller and machine configuration.
The system’s UVD3 multimedia engine was described as supporting simultaneous standard-definition and high-definition video playback. That is a video-decoding feature; it is not evidence of a particular frame rate in a game. No QXi-200 game benchmarks or title-compatibility results are established by the cited launch report.

Quixant’s reported design used a fanless case and a single 12V power input. These are controller-level design characteristics, not a claim that every complete gaming cabinet draws 12V only or has an 18W total power requirement. AMD’s 18W figure is the APU’s default TDP, not the power consumption of the whole machine.
What performance evidence does—and does not—show
AMD’s 2011 performance-lab figures for an E-350 Zacate reference design were up to 658 minutes (10.96 hours) of idle battery life and up to 258 minutes (4.34 hours) on an “active” 3DMark ’06 metric. The reference laptop used 4GB of DDR3-1066 memory, an 11.6-inch 1366×768 display, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and a 62Wh battery. These vendor reference-system results do not measure the QXi-200, a gaming cabinet, or game performance.

Can an E-350 still run a gaming machine?
It can remain usable in a legacy embedded machine when the board, graphics drivers, operating system and game software are compatible. The processor’s historical DirectX 11 capability alone does not establish compatibility with a current game or current operating system. For an existing installation, the practical test is the exact game build and system image used by the cabinet, rather than the APU’s headline clock speed.
AMD classifies the E-350 as a legacy-support product and says additional driver releases are not planned. Its support listing includes Catalyst 15.7.1 WHQL dated 29 July 2015 and Crimson Edition 16.2.1 Beta dated 1 March 2016. That old driver lifecycle is an important constraint for a new build or an operating-system upgrade.

What to check when sourcing an E-350 board
Because the E-350 is an FT1 BGA part, a buyer will generally need a compatible motherboard or complete embedded system rather than a loose processor. The QXi-200 itself is a named industrial gaming controller, but current retail availability and replacement-board stock are not established here. Before buying a replacement, verify:
- That the specific board or controller actually carries an E-350 and Radeon HD 6310; model names and configurations can vary.
- Memory type and supported capacity, firmware, display connectors and the required number of independent displays.
- Power input, mounting dimensions, cooling provisions and connections to the cabinet’s peripherals.
- That the original game software and operating-system image run with the available legacy drivers.
- Seller condition, tested functionality, return policy and availability of technical support or firmware.
EE Times also said the QXi-200 shared architecture with Quixant’s QXi-100, allowing migration to QXi-200 features and performance. That is a platform-family statement, not a guarantee that a QXi-200 is a drop-in replacement in every QXi-100 cabinet; confirm wiring, software and mechanical compatibility for the specific installation.
