Why this puzzle could be tricky
DECRY is likely to be the least immediately familiar entry for many players, despite being a standard word. The three A-starting answers also create a deceptive cluster of similar-looking possibilities, making it easy to spend too many guesses testing one pattern.
The original coverage described DECRY as the difficult entry, but that is a subjective assessment rather than a measured difficulty score. The repeated A in both AGATE and ALARM is another useful detail: the puzzle has two answers with repeated letters, but both repetitions are the letter A.
