Razer announced the Wolverine V3 Pro 8K PC on August 12, 2025, as a wireless controller designed for competitive PC gaming. Razer specifies 8,000 Hz polling in both wired and wireless PC modes, but that specification is not proof of a competitive advantage or a guarantee of better results. The controller is a PC-only product, not an Xbox-compatible version of the earlier Wolverine V3 Pro.
What the Wolverine V3 Pro 8K PC offers
The controller is built around configurable controls and a high polling-rate specification. Razer lists the following features in its August 12, 2025 announcement and product information:
- 8,000 Hz HyperPolling: Razer says this is supported in both wired and wireless modes when connected to a PC.
- TMR thumbsticks: The sticks use Tunnel Magnetoresistance technology and have swappable caps.
- Six additional controls: Four rear buttons and two claw-grip bumpers are available for remapping.
- Configurable triggers: Pro HyperTriggers can switch between rapid-fire mouse-click operation and full analog control.
- Included accessories: A USB-A wireless dongle, carrying case and 2 m braided cable. The cable supports wired play and charging.
Razer says Synapse 4 can be used to customize button mappings and thumbstick sensitivity. These are manufacturer-listed capabilities; the available launch information does not establish how much they change performance in a particular game or setup.
Does it work on Xbox or other platforms?
No, the Wolverine V3 Pro 8K PC is presented as a PC controller. Razer lists Windows 11 64-bit or higher as the requirement, and PC Gamer’s review describes it as PC-only, without console or mobile support. PC Gamer also notes that it has no Bluetooth connectivity and no haptic feedback. Wireless play uses the included USB-A dongle, rather than Bluetooth.
#1 Best Overall
- 4 MOUSE CLICK BACK BUTTONS & 2 CLAW GRIP BUMPERS — Enjoy the same ultra-responsive actuation found in Razer's top gaming mice with 4 buttons built into the controller’s ergonomic, rubberized handles—topped with 2 claw grip bumpers for even more control
- PRO HYPERTRIGGERS — Set the triggers for instant actuation with zero travel time or ultra precise analog control—be fully immersed in the action and feel every trigger pull with integrated haptic vibrations
- HALL EFFECT PRECISION THUMBSTICKS — Experience analog thumbsticks that are not only more accurate than traditional models but are smoother, lighter, and more durable thanks to their anti-friction rings and pro grade materials
- HYPERSPEED WIRELESS — Delivering an ultra-low latency 2.4 GHz connection via its USB Type A dongle, experience fast, reliable performance that meets the demands of the most intense competitive players on Xbox and PC
- RAZER MECHA-TACTILE ACTION BUTTONS & 8-WAY FLOATING D-PAD — By combining the speed of microswitches with the cushioned comfort of a rubber membrane, compete with quicker inputs that feel just as comfortable to press
That distinction matters because this is not simply the earlier Xbox/PC Wolverine V3 Pro with a faster polling number. Check the platform requirement against your own setup before buying; an Xbox or mobile player should not assume this model will work with their device.
How it compares with the Tournament Edition
Razer also announced a wired Wolverine V3 Tournament Edition 8K PC. The company’s FAQ identifies wireless compatibility and the included carrying case as key distinctions for the Pro. The sources available do not provide a controlled, complete side-by-side performance test, so the practical choice is primarily about connection and portability rather than a verified performance ranking.

Does 8,000 Hz mean it will help you win?
Razer is targeting competitive PC players and highlights the polling rate, customizable controls and compact wireless design. Its announcement calls the polling rate the industry’s fastest and describes the controller as a way to gain an advantage; those are Razer’s claims, not independently established tournament results. Neither the announcement nor the product information cited here supplies a controlled latency comparison, measured win-rate change or evidence that the controller makes players more successful.
Razer executive Nick Bourne said at launch, “PC gamers have long demanded a controller that doesn’t compromise on speed, precision, or customization.” That quote expresses the company’s positioning. The listed features may appeal to players who want remappable controls and wireless PC use, but the available evidence does not show that they guarantee a competitive edge.
