Razer announced two separate CES 2025 accessories on January 7, 2025: the Handheld Dock Chroma, which connects compatible handhelds to displays, Ethernet and USB peripherals, and the Monitor Stand Chroma, an aluminum monitor riser with a built-in hub, storage shelf and RGB lighting. They are not a combined dock-and-stand, and their prices have risen from the original announcement figures.
What Razer announced
The Handheld Dock Chroma and Monitor Stand Chroma target different parts of a gaming desk. The dock is intended to turn a compatible USB-C handheld into a desk- or TV-based setup. The stand raises a monitor or laptop while adding storage, USB connectivity and Chroma RGB.
Both use aluminum construction, Razer’s Chroma lighting and a cable-management-focused design language. Neither is a new handheld or monitor.

Handheld Dock Chroma: ports and practical uses
The Handheld Dock Chroma holds a handheld at an adjustable angle and connects it to a larger display and desktop accessories. Its hinge offers 45-degree and 75-degree viewing angles, and the unit folds for transport. Razer also positions it for tablets and other compatible USB-C devices.

100 W input does not mean 100 W reaches every handheld
The dock accepts up to 100 W through its USB-C power input, but Razer specifies up to 85 W delivered to the connected device. Actual charging depends on the charger, cable, handheld’s own charging limit and firmware, plus power consumed by attached USB devices. A high-performance handheld can still charge slowly or lose battery while gaming if the charger or device profile is insufficient.
Compatibility is conditional
Steam Deck, ASUS ROG Ally and ROG Ally X-class Windows handhelds are logical examples, but physical USB-C fit is not enough. The handheld must support video output, USB data and the required USB Power Delivery behavior. Cases, grips and unusual port positions can also prevent a secure fit.
Razer lists Nintendo Switch support with a specific caveat: the console must be placed upside down to reach its USB-C port, and Razer recommends the original adapter or an equivalent power supply. That is a useful compatibility note, not evidence that every USB-C device will support every dock feature.
Monitor Stand Chroma: a riser with connectivity
The Monitor Stand Chroma is an anodized-aluminum riser rather than a passive shelf. It measures 19.7 × 8.27 inches (500 × 210 mm) and supports up to 44 lb (20 kg). Razer describes it as suitable for most 24- to 27-inch monitors within those limits.
- Two USB 3.2 Type-A ports.
- One USB 3.2 Type-C port.
- One USB-C host connection/input.
- One HDMI 2.0 connection.
- An under-monitor shelf for a keyboard, handheld, laptop, phone or accessories.
- Chroma RGB lighting controlled through a remappable button and Razer Synapse.
- Anti-slip pads and an aluminum body.
Razer calls it a four-port USB-C hub because the four USB-related connections are counted separately from HDMI. The product page is at razer.com.
Check the monitor’s footprint, not just its diagonal size
A 24- or 27-inch label does not guarantee a safe fit. Check the monitor’s total weight, stand footprint, feet overhang and center of gravity. A wide central stand or an ultrawide display may be unsuitable even below 44 lb. Keep the screen centered, use the supplied pads and do not treat the weight limit as the only compatibility test.

The stand includes HDMI 2.0, but the available specifications do not establish that it behaves like a one-cable Thunderbolt or USB-C display dock. Confirm the manual’s signal path and your host device’s USB-C video or data support before buying. It should not automatically replace a full laptop dock.

Using both together
The dock can hold and connect the handheld while the stand raises the display and provides a separate shelf and hub. That can make a tidy handheld-to-monitor station for someone who alternates between portable and desktop-style play.
They remain two independent USB accessories. Plan wall power, cable lengths and routing, and consider whether both HDMI paths are redundant for your setup. A conventional dock and inexpensive riser may provide the same practical result for less money.

Prices and availability
CES coverage reported launch prices of $79.99 for the Handheld Dock Chroma and $199.99 for the Monitor Stand Chroma, with pre-orders opening January 7, 2025. The announcement was covered by Android Headlines.

Reasons to buy—or skip—the dock
Good fit
- You use more than one handheld or tablet and want one polished dock.
- You need HDMI, Gigabit Ethernet and three USB-A ports in a portable unit.
- You already use Razer Chroma hardware and value coordinated lighting.
- Your device supports USB-C video output and appropriate USB Power Delivery.
Questionable fit
- You only need charging and HDMI and can accept a cheaper generic dock.
- You need multiple displays, SD-card readers, high-speed USB-C expansion or Thunderbolt-class bandwidth.
- Your handheld lacks USB-C video output, or its case will not fit the cradle.
- You do not value RGB or premium industrial design.
Reasons to buy—or skip—the stand
Good fit
- You want one aluminum riser, shelf, USB hub and lighting system.
- Your monitor fits the footprint and stays below 44 lb.
- You keep a keyboard, handheld or laptop beneath the display.
Questionable fit
- You already own a monitor arm, USB-C dock or monitor with a built-in hub.
- You need precise height, tilt and swivel adjustment.
- You only need a basic riser and do not use RGB.
- Your display has a wide stand, unusual feet or an unstable center of gravity.
Common problems and checks
No picture on the external display
- Confirm the handheld supports DisplayPort Alt Mode or equivalent USB-C video output.
- Connect USB-C power to the dock.
- Check the HDMI cable and select the correct display input.
- Try another cable or monitor, then reboot or select the handheld’s display mode.
- Disconnect other USB devices temporarily to isolate power or compatibility issues.
HDMI 2.0’s 4K/60 capability does not guarantee that every handheld, game, cable and display will produce 4K/60.
Slow charging or battery drain
Check the charger’s wattage and USB-PD profile, the cable, the handheld’s charging limit and the number of powered peripherals. Remember that the dock’s 100 W input is specified as up to 85 W to the device.
Ethernet unavailable or slower than expected
Razer specifies Gigabit Ethernet, not 2.5GbE or 10GbE. Check the cable, router or switch and operating-system recognition, then test with other USB devices removed.
Wobble or an unsafe monitor position
Center the monitor, verify its total weight and footprint, confirm that the feet do not overhang and use the anti-slip pads. Do not rely on the 44-lb figure alone.
