Ready or Not: Dark Waters is paid downloadable content (DLC) for the tactical shooter Ready or Not. It adds three scenarios—a luxury yacht, an offshore oil rig, and an abandoned island resort—along with five rifles and two uniform sets. You need the base game to play it; check the store for your platform and region before buying, since editions, availability, and prices can vary.
What does Dark Waters add?
The Steam listing, which gives a release date of December 10, 2024, describes three missions and additions to the general SWAT armory and uniforms. The scenarios are distinct settings and operations, not three versions of the same map.

- Mirage at Sea: A luxury yacht party conceals an international crime operation.
- Leviathan: Eco-terrorists have overrun an offshore oil rig, where workers are being executed.
- 3 Letter Triad: A secretive deal takes place at an abandoned island resort.
Weapons and uniforms
The add-on lists five rifles for the general SWAT armory: MK17, GA51, M14S-16, MP5SD6, and G3. It also includes two uniform sets, one for VBSS (Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure) and one for the ATLAS Association. These are in-game additions, not real-world equipment recommendations.
Do you need Ready or Not to play Dark Waters?
Yes. The Steam listing explicitly requires the Ready or Not base game on Steam. Xbox also describes the add-on as requiring a separately sold game. On PlayStation, the product page lists Dark Waters as a PS5 add-on alongside the base game. Make sure you own the base game on the same platform or storefront as the DLC; do not assume a purchase on one store carries over to another.

Can you play Dark Waters in co-op?
The PlayStation page says Ready or Not supports up to five online players with crossplay, while the Epic listing labels online multiplayer, co-op, and cross-platform features. These are platform-listing statements about the game; they do not establish that every mission, mode, or matchmaking setup behaves identically. Check the current listing and in-game options for your platform if a particular crossplay or party configuration matters.
What should you check before buying?
- Confirm the base game. Verify that you own Ready or Not on the same platform or storefront where you plan to buy Dark Waters.
- Check whether you already have the DLC. Xbox and PlayStation listings identify editions or passes that include Dark Waters; compare their contents with your existing purchase.
- Review platform and PC compatibility. For PC, compare your system with the live requirements on the store page. For consoles, select the correct console version and regional listing.
- Check the current regional price and edition contents. Prices, discounts, availability, and bundles can change, so rely on the matching official storefront rather than an old price snapshot.
Is Dark Waters suitable for every player?
The subject matter is graphic. Steam’s mature-content description warns of gritty realism and graphic content, and advises people with personal traumatic experiences involving criminal violence, hostage situations, or terrorism to refrain from playing. Xbox lists a Mature 17+ rating with descriptors including intense violence, blood, sexual themes, nudity, strong language, and drug reference. Ratings and descriptors can differ by region, so consult your local store page.
Steam presents one mission briefing as an in-story LSPD official statement dated October 27 at 10:12 a.m. PDT. Its wording is fictional framing for the game, not a real police statement.
