Realme launched the GT 6 in India and selected global markets on June 20, 2024. It combines Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, a 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display, 120W wired charging and a 5,500mAh typical battery. The India launch price started at ₹40,999, a historical launch figure rather than a current 2026 street price.
Its biggest claims need context: 120Hz does not make every game run at 120 frames per second, and 6,000 nits is a local peak/APL measurement rather than sustained full-screen brightness.

Which Realme GT 6 is this?
This article covers the global and India GT 6. It is not the China-market GT 6 or GT Neo 6, whose hardware and software can differ, and it is not the cheaper GT 6T. The GT 6 uses Snapdragon 8s Gen 3; the GT 6T uses Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3. Compare regional model numbers before importing a handset. China specifications are listed separately at Realme China, while the GT 6T is documented at Realme’s GT 6T page.

Performance: powerful, but not a full flagship Snapdragon
Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is a high-performance 4nm platform positioned below Qualcomm’s top Snapdragon 8-series flagship parts. LPDDR5X memory, UFS 4.0 storage and Realme’s Geek Power Tuning give the phone strong gaming-oriented hardware and user control over performance behavior.
Realme’s “same as Snapdragon 8 Gen 3” language refers to selected capabilities such as imaging, display, modem or memory support. It should not be read as identical overall CPU, GPU or sustained performance. Realme has also reported an AnTuTu result above 1.65 million; that is a company figure, not an independent benchmark standard.
What “120 FPS gaming” actually means
The display supports 120Hz
The LTPO panel can adapt from 1Hz to 120Hz. A high refresh rate is necessary for displaying up to 120 frames per second, and the phone advertises touch sampling of up to 2,500Hz under specified conditions.

Games still control the frame rate
Realme’s Russian launch material specifically claimed stable 120fps PUBG gameplay and 1.5K Genshin Impact play in its stated test configuration: Realme’s launch announcement. That is a manufacturer claim tied to a particular game, software build and settings. It is not a guarantee for every title.
Game whitelisting, regional game versions, graphics settings, temperature, battery level and updates determine whether 120fps is available and sustained. A title capped at 60fps cannot use the panel’s full refresh rate. Long sessions can also reduce frame rates as the phone manages heat and power.
Cooling and troubleshooting
Realme lists a 10,014mm² Iceberg Vapor Cooling System. This is a manufacturer specification, not an independent thermal test. If a supported game does not show a 120fps option, update the game and phone, check its frame-rate menu and performance mode, and confirm regional support. If performance falls during a long session, lower graphics quality, remove a thick case, avoid charging while playing and cool the room.

Display and the 6,000-nit claim
Three brightness figures describe different conditions
- 1,000 nits typical: the listed ordinary brightness figure.
- 1,600 nits HBM: high-brightness mode, generally used for bright outdoor scenes.
- 6,000 nits peak/APL: a local peak measured with a specified average picture level, not the whole screen continuously.
Consequently, the screen will not look like a sustained 6,000-nit panel during normal indoor use. Brightness claims from different phones are comparable only when measurement area, duration, mode and test method match.
Panel features
The 10-bit panel covers 100% of DCI-P3 and supports Dolby Vision and Pro-XDR according to Realme. It uses 2160Hz PWM dimming, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and adaptive LTPO refresh. Lowering refresh when content is static can reduce power use, although the saving depends on brightness, apps and settings. Realme also advertises AI eye-protection functions; behavior and availability can vary by software and country.
AI features and their limits
Photo and contextual tools
- AI Smart Removal removes selected objects from photos using generative editing.
- AI Smart Loop recognizes selected content and can suggest an action, such as mapping a hotel address.
- AI Night Vision Mode uses computational photography for darker scenes.
- Screen recognition, smart charging and air-gesture functions are also listed by Realme.
Realme states that names, languages, availability and rollout timing vary by country. Some functions may require later updates. Smart Removal can leave artifacts around hair, hands, transparent objects, text or complicated backgrounds. “AI” branding also does not establish that every function runs on the device; Realme has not documented local processing for all of them.

Do not transfer gaming-assistant features from the China product page to every global GT 6. Regional software packages differ.

The main camera uses a 50MP Sony LYT-808 sensor with optical image stabilization and a listed 1/1.4-inch format. Realme pairs it with an 8MP Sony IMX355 ultra-wide camera and promotes its HyperTone Image Engine, Super Nightscape, 2x portrait mode and DIS Snapshot.
The sensor size and OIS matter more than the megapixel headline for everyday low-light and handheld shooting. The 8MP ultra-wide is less ambitious hardware, so do not expect the same detail or night performance from both cameras. AI Night Vision and Smart Removal are computational features, not proof that the GT 6 matches premium camera phones in every scene.

Battery and 120W charging
Realme lists a 5,500mAh typical battery and a 5,360mAh minimum/rated equivalent on the India page. It advertises 120W SUPERVOOC charging and up to 50% in 10 minutes under its stated laboratory conditions. Charging speed changes with temperature, battery level, cable, charger and settings.
The India listing says the adapter supports 120W, but box contents can differ by market. EU versions may have adapter limitations. Verify the local package before buying; rapid charging also does not establish all-day endurance during high-refresh gaming.
Design, connectivity and regional buying checks
The phone has a Nano Mirror design, dual stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint reader, NFC, an infrared remote and 5G connectivity. IP65 helps against dust and water jets but is not an immersion rating. Realme’s Privacy Encryption Chipset and CC EAL6+ descriptions are company claims, not an independent security assessment.
India and Europe were identified as launch markets, but “global” does not mean universal retail availability. US buyers should confirm official sales, 5G bands, VoLTE/VoWiFi, Google services, plug type, warranty and repair support before importing. Current stock, pricing, Android updates and security support require separate, current verification; the phone launched with Android 14.
Who should consider the GT 6?
Good fit
- Players of games that explicitly support 120fps.
- Buyers wanting high-end performance below Qualcomm’s most expensive flagship tier.
- Users who value an adaptive, high-resolution display and very fast charging.
- Photographers who prioritize a stabilized large main sensor over multiple high-resolution cameras.
Reasons to hesitate
- You need guaranteed 120fps in every game.
- You interpret 6,000 nits as sustained full-screen brightness.
- You require a US warranty or confirmed local network compatibility.
- You need full flagship-chip performance, immersion-grade water resistance or proven long-term update commitments.
- AI tools must be available in a specific language or region immediately.
Launch price and availability
The GT 6 first went on sale in India on June 25, 2024, from ₹40,999. That price belongs to the launch period and should not be presented as a 2026 price. Regional RAM, storage, charger, warranty and network configurations can differ. Check the applicable Realme regional page before purchase.
The Bottom Line
The Realme GT 6 is a capable performance phone whose 120Hz display, Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and 120W charging are real advantages. Its 120fps PUBG result and 6,000-nit figure are conditional claims, however: game support determines frame rate, while 6,000 nits is a local peak rather than normal sustained brightness.
