It is one of the more complete gaming phones of its generation, but its advantage over the REDMAGIC 10 Pro is mostly extra performance headroom—not a transformation you will see in every game. In 2026, it makes the most sense at a substantial discount from the newer REDMAGIC 11S Pro.
What makes the REDMAGIC 10S Pro a gaming phone?
The 10S Pro is a gaming-focused Android phone and a refresh of the REDMAGIC 10 Pro, rather than a new platform. Its key components are a Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Version processor, RedCore R3 Pro gaming co-processor, LPDDR5T memory and UFS 4.1 Pro storage. Configurations vary by market, with 12GB, 16GB or 24GB of RAM and storage options up to 1TB. REDMAGIC’s product page lists the core specifications; check the local store for the configuration actually available.
The gaming package also includes ICE-X active cooling with a fan, a 6.85-inch AMOLED display with a maximum 144Hz refresh rate, 520Hz capacitive shoulder triggers and a 7,050mAh battery with 80W wired charging. REDMAGIC’s feature page identifies the software as REDMAGIC OS 10.5 based on Android 15; installed versions and updates can vary by region and update status. The official feature page also describes Game Space and RedCore functions.
Performance: extremely fast, with limited everyday gains over the 10 Pro
What “Leading Version” means
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Version is a higher-clocked form of the Snapdragon 8 Elite, not a different processor generation. REDMAGIC advertises up to 30% CPU and GPU improvement and 40% NPU improvement over the 10 Pro; those are manufacturer comparisons, not independently verified gains in every task. The company’s comparison lists CPU clocks of 4.47GHz versus 4.23GHz, while its GPU clock notation is not sufficiently clear to use as a directly comparable specification. REDMAGIC’s comparison should be read as a claim about its testing and configuration.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
What players are likely to notice
Independent testing by TechRadar found the 10S Pro among the fastest Android phones, but reported that its lead was not consistently obvious in ordinary games because the 10 Pro was already powerful. A faster chip can offer headroom for demanding settings, emulation and future workloads; it does not guarantee more visible frames when a game is capped or already runs smoothly.
Game performance depends on the title’s frame-rate cap, optimization, graphics API, chosen resolution and settings, and the phone’s thermal mode. A 144Hz display does not make every game render at 144 frames per second. Frame boosting or interpolation, where available, can make motion appear smoother without being equivalent to the game rendering that many native frames.
Cooling matters most during long sessions
The 10S Pro combines a 12,000mm² vapor chamber, Liquid Metal 2.0 thermal material, multiple heat-spreading layers and a centrifugal fan rated by REDMAGIC at 23,000 RPM. The goal is to move heat away during sustained workloads, when a phone that relies on passive cooling may reduce processor speed to manage temperature. Those components and figures are manufacturer specifications. REDMAGIC’s cooling description outlines the design.
REDMAGIC reports a 5°C temperature reduction against the 10 Pro and a maximum 39.9°C versus 44°C in its 60-minute Call of Duty: Mobile test. Those are company-controlled results from that test, not a prediction for another game, room temperature or phone setting. TechRadar’s review found that sustained performance took a step back in its testing compared with the 10 Pro, although overall performance remained excellent. That independent result is a reminder that a larger cooling specification does not by itself prove higher sustained frame rates in every workload.
- The fan is most relevant in long, graphically demanding sessions; casual play may not need it.
- High-performance modes and fan operation can add noise and use more power. Heat may still build under an extreme workload.
- Keep the intake and exhaust clear. A bulky case or external cooler can obstruct airflow or change comfort, so check fit and clearance.
- Dust can enter an active cooling path over time, and the vent area may feel warm. Cooler operation also cannot overcome a game’s frame-rate cap.
The 144Hz display is spacious and unobstructed
The 6.85-inch AMOLED panel has a 2688 × 1216 resolution and a maximum 144Hz refresh rate. REDMAGIC claims peak brightness of 2,000 nits; that is a peak figure, not necessarily a full-screen brightness level directly comparable with other phones. The company also lists 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and an approximately 95.3% screen-to-body ratio. With no notch or punch-hole camera interrupting the image, the screen gives landscape games an uninterrupted viewing area. These display specifications are from REDMAGIC.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
Refresh rate, touch-sampling rate and rendered frame rate measure different things. The panel can refresh up to 144 times a second, but a game must support a high frame rate to make full use of it. Higher refresh settings can also draw more power. The large, flat body suits two-handed landscape play better than one-handed everyday use for some people.
Shoulder triggers add useful inputs in supported games
The 520Hz capacitive shoulder triggers let players map actions on the screen to touch-sensitive areas along the phone’s edges. In a shooter, one trigger can fire while the other aims or handles another action, leaving thumbs free for movement and camera control. In a racing game, a trigger can be assigned to acceleration or braking. They are not mechanical buttons, and their value depends on the game, mapping software and how the phone sits in your hands.
- In Game Space, map a trigger to a frequently used on-screen action in a game you play.
- Test both triggers together and check whether the mappings persist for that game.
- Try both landscape orientations and your usual grip; look for accidental presses or missed inputs.
- Repeat the test with the case you plan to use, since its fit can affect access to the trigger areas.
Do not assume a trigger mapping works outside games or in every title: behavior depends on the software version and supported game.

Game Space brings gaming options together, including performance profiles, touch sensitivity, trigger mapping, fan and lighting controls, notifications and recording tools. Settings that change performance or cooling can be practical, but aggressive modes trade battery life and quieter operation for more headroom. Menu names and available controls can change with REDMAGIC OS updates; test the options in the games you actually use instead of assuming every control is universal.
REDMAGIC says the RedCore R3 Pro can enable up to 2K super-resolution on compatible external displays and 144Hz frame boosting in selected games. These are conditional capabilities, not guarantees that any game or screen will support those modes. The feature page describes the compatibility qualifications.

Battery life and charging
The 7,050mAh battery is unusually large, and 80W wired charging can replenish it quickly when the phone and regional charger support that rate. Verify what charger is included in your market. Actual gaming endurance changes with the title, brightness, refresh rate, fan, performance profile and Wi-Fi or mobile-data connection.
REDMAGIC reports eight hours of Call of Duty: Mobile usage from its own 60-minute test methodology. That result is a manufacturer test figure, not a universal estimate for eight hours of any game; the company’s page also reports an average 120.2 FPS and maximum temperature of 39.9°C in that test. REDMAGIC’s test description is the source for those figures. Check the software version and regional feature list for any charge-separation or bypass option before relying on one for gaming while plugged in.
Everyday use: gaming strengths, conventional-phone compromises
Size, design and handling
The phone’s large, flat, angular body works well as a landscape gaming surface, but is less convenient for one-handed use and may feel heavy compared with a conventional flagship. The gamer styling, fan vent and lighting are functional parts of its identity rather than a discreet design. The integrated fan also introduces noise and an airflow path that a sealed, passive-cooled phone does not have.
Cameras
The phone has triple rear cameras and an upgraded front camera according to REDMAGIC, but camera count does not establish image quality. TechRadar judged the cameras serviceable rather than competitive with the best midrange phones and specifically criticized the selfie experience. They should be adequate for basic social posts, calls and casual daylight shots, but buyers prioritizing night photography, stabilized video or strong selfies should compare camera samples from alternatives before choosing.
Connectivity, durability and support
REDMAGIC’s US-facing product page says the phone supports dual active SIMs and Google Pay. That page also warns buyers to check carrier compatibility. Frequency-band support alone does not guarantee carrier approval, and imported variants can differ in network support, warranty, charger and software. Check the exact model and carrier before ordering. The available material does not establish a broadly applicable water-resistance rating or a single long-term update commitment for every region, so verify the local policy rather than assuming flagship-grade protection or support.

REDMAGIC 10S Pro vs REDMAGIC 10 Pro: should owners upgrade?
The 10S Pro adds a higher-clocked Snapdragon 8 Elite variant, an updated cooling design and the same broad gaming proposition of a fast full-screen display, shoulder controls and large battery. REDMAGIC’s performance percentages are company claims; TechRadar’s independent review found that the 10S Pro stayed very fast but that the difference was not consistently noticeable in ordinary play. For a 10 Pro owner, the case to upgrade is additional headroom or a particular cooling and configuration advantage—not an expectation of a dramatic change in every game.
If the 10 Pro already runs the games you play at your preferred settings, keeping it is the more sensible choice. A discounted 10 Pro may also be better value for a new buyer if its condition, support and price compare favorably with the 10S Pro.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.REDMAGIC 10S Pro vs mainstream flagships
The choice depends on priorities rather than a universal winner:
- Choose the 10S Pro for: long gaming sessions, built-in active cooling, integrated touch triggers, a large notch-free display and gaming-first controls.
- Consider a mainstream flagship for: stronger cameras, a more conventional size and design, broader ecosystem integration, clearer long-term software expectations, or documented water resistance and general-purpose durability.
A mainstream phone can play demanding games well, but generally does not offer the same integrated fan-and-trigger setup. Conversely, the 10S Pro’s gaming hardware does not erase its everyday compromises.

Is the REDMAGIC 10S Pro worth buying in 2026?
As of August 16, 2026, the 10S Pro is a previous-generation option: TechRadar reported the REDMAGIC 11S Pro going on sale June 10, 2026. The 11S Pro review is relevant current-generation context, but the available information here does not establish a like-for-like current price or performance comparison between the two. Check current local stock, warranty and software support before buying.
Prices observed on REDMAGIC’s official listings are volatile: the global store showed a 12GB/256GB Nightfall model at $609, reduced from $649 and out of stock; the US-facing page showed a 16GB/512GB Moonlight at $809, reduced from $849 and out of stock. Those are snapshots of the listed configurations and inventory, not guaranteed prices or availability. Check the global store or US-facing product page for your region.
At a meaningful discount from the 11S Pro, the 10S Pro can suit dedicated players who want its fan, battery and full-screen display more than the newest processor. Near the price of the newer model, compare the actual specifications, support and warranty rather than paying almost-new-generation money for older hardware.
Which configuration makes sense?
- 12GB/256GB: the value-oriented choice for ordinary gaming and a moderate installed library.
- 16GB/512GB: a practical enthusiast option for several large games, emulators, recordings and more storage headroom.
- 24GB/1TB: for extensive libraries, media storage or heavy multitasking; extra RAM alone does not raise game frame rates.
Configurations and stock vary by country and seller, so confirm the exact variant before purchase.
Accessories: buy for a specific need
The official listings include protective cases, screen protectors, external VC coolers and Shadow Blade gamepads. A case is sensible protection, but confirm it leaves the fan path and triggers clear. An external cooler is more relevant to extreme long sessions or hot environments than casual play, since the phone already has a fan. A gamepad suits titles designed around controller input; it is less compelling if integrated triggers are the reason you chose this phone. Check compatibility and current listings on the official store.
