The cooling is the more concrete hardware advance. The AI may be useful, but its name, supported games and behavior depend on software version and region, so it should not be treated as a guaranteed competitive advantage.
REDMAGIC calls the 11 Pro the world’s first mass-produced smartphone with active liquid cooling; that is the company’s claim, not an independently established industry fact. Full specifications are available from REDMAGIC.
What the REDMAGIC 11 Pro is
This is a large, performance-focused Android phone rather than a conventional flagship with gaming features added as an afterthought. It uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and REDMAGIC’s RedCore R4 gaming chip, with configurations reaching 24GB of LPDDR5T RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 Pro storage.

The trigger buttons can move aim, fire, braking or other commands away from the touchscreen, which is particularly valuable in shooters, racing games and action titles. Their usefulness still depends on whether a game’s control layout can be mapped comfortably.

What “AI coaching” includes
“AI” is not one single 11 Pro feature. REDMAGIC’s official materials combine general assistance, input tools and Game Space automation, while a manual listing and independent reviews use more specific coaching names. The distinctions matter:

REDMAGIC’s Game Space page, the manual listing and reviews from Tom’s Guide and GamesRadar support describing these as AI-assisted gaming tools. They do not establish universal real-time screen understanding across every game.
Before buying for this feature, confirm the current Game Space version, supported titles, language, account or server requirements and whether the tool can actually inspect a live game state. Advice may be generic, delayed, wrong or unavailable when a game interface is unsupported. A “win-rate” estimate should be treated as an interface feature, not a verified forecast.
How AquaCore liquid cooling works
The 11 Pro is not a miniature desktop water loop with a user-serviceable reservoir. REDMAGIC describes a layered heat-transfer path:

- Circulating fluorinated coolant moves heat through the active liquid-cooling section.
- A 13,116mm² 3D vapor chamber and Composite Liquid Metal 3.0 spread heat away from the processor.
- Under-screen copper foil, high-conductivity graphene, thermal gel, motherboard copper foil and an aircraft-grade aluminum mid-frame continue transferring heat.
- An aerospace-aluminum air duct guides air to a waterproof turbo fan rated at up to 24,000 RPM, which exhausts heat to the surrounding air.
The component list comes from REDMAGIC’s cooling explanation and specifications. Liquid moves heat; it does not make heat disappear. The fan can be audible and consumes power, and a case that blocks its intake or exhaust can reduce effectiveness. Owners should not attempt to refill, open or repair the internal coolant system.

What cooling changes during a gaming session
Active cooling is most relevant when a game keeps the processor busy for 30 to 120 minutes. Moving heat away more aggressively can delay thermal throttling and help frame-rate stability. It cannot raise peak performance when the chip is already below its thermal limit, and it cannot guarantee a cool exterior in a hot room, direct sun, while fast-charging or with blocked vents.
Independent coverage is not unanimous about the size of the sustained-performance gain. Android Central and GamesRadar describe strong gaming performance, while TechRadar raises questions about how much the advantage persists in extended use. Results depend on the game, graphics settings, ambient temperature, charging state, Game Space mode, fan setting and whether a case is fitted. Short benchmark bursts cannot answer the sustained-load question.
Display, controls and endurance
The 6.85-inch AMOLED panel combines 2688×1216 resolution with a manufacturer-rated peak brightness of up to 1,800 nits and a 144Hz refresh rate. The stated 3,000Hz touch figure is a maximum or mode-dependent value, not a constant response rate in every app. A 7,500mAh battery and up to 80W wired and wireless charging are unusually substantial for a phone of this class, although charging while playing adds heat and can reduce the practical benefit of the thermal system.
Shoulder triggers, 4D vibration, stereo speakers and a headphone jack make the phone easy to configure for competitive play or wired audio. The under-display camera preserves an uninterrupted screen, but the camera system is not the primary reason to choose this device.

Do not assume Chinese-market, global and U.S. models are interchangeable. Verify the exact model’s LTE and 5G bands with your carrier, because a long band list does not guarantee ideal service. The listed dual nano-SIM design has no eSIM.
Is it practical as an everyday phone?
Where it is strong
- High-end processor and large RAM/storage options for demanding games and emulation.
- Active cooling, physical triggers, high refresh rate and a headphone jack.
- Large battery and wireless charging.
- Game Space controls designed around sustained play.
Where it compromises
- At about 230g, it is heavy compared with mainstream flagships.
- The internal fan can be audible and uses additional power.
- Gaming-focused software may feel less polished than a conventional flagship Android skin.
- The cameras are secondary to performance.
- There is no eSIM, and carrier compatibility requires model-specific checking.
- IPX8 is not the same as a conventional IP68 dust-and-water certification; retain REDMAGIC’s stated dust-proof qualification.
- Regional support, warranty handling and long-term update commitments should be confirmed in the current local policy.
Who should buy it?
The 11 Pro makes the most sense for serious mobile gamers, emulation users, esports players and anyone who values triggers, a headphone jack, large storage and sustained performance more than camera quality or minimum weight. It is also a credible choice for long sessions in which ordinary phones begin reducing clock speeds.
Choose a mainstream flagship or a competing gaming phone instead if you need eSIM, broad carrier certainty, quieter operation, a more polished everyday camera and software experience, or a clearly documented long update commitment. Verdict: cooling is the reason to care; AI needs verification
REDMAGIC’s active liquid-cooling stack is a substantive engineering feature aimed at maintaining performance under sustained load, though fan noise, heat, battery use and test conditions still matter. The AI story is narrower: Gemini, AI Input, recognition, highlights, Personal AI Coach and Win Rate Predictor are different tools, and the coaching functions are not documented as a universal, proven real-time strategy system. Buy the 11 Pro for its performance package and controls first; regard AI coaching as a potentially useful extra only after confirming that your games and regional software support it.
