The Redmi XT Gaming TV was a real China-market television announced on October 22, 2022, with preorders opening on October 24 at 8 p.m. China time. Its headline “dual 120Hz” feature means a 120Hz display combined with 120Hz MEMC motion interpolation—not two screens or two independently native 120Hz panels. Launch pricing started at 2,099 yuan for the 55-inch model.
What was released?
Redmi, Xiaomi’s sub-brand, positioned the XT as an affordable 4K gaming television in 55-inch, 65-inch and 75-inch sizes. Launch coverage reported a 120Hz panel, HDMI 2.1 connectivity, variable refresh rate (VRR) and AMD FreeSync Premium certification. The announcement and preorder details were reported by IT之家, with most specifications also summarized by Gizmochina.
What “dual 120Hz” actually means
Native 120Hz refresh
The panel can refresh the displayed image up to 120 times per second when the input and picture mode support that rate. That is the part relevant to high-refresh console and PC signals.

MEMC (Motion Estimation/Motion Compensation) analyzes motion and algorithmically creates intermediate frames, making compatible video appear smoother. It is processing, not a second native display signal.

What it does not prove
“Dual” does not describe a dual-screen design, and the label alone does not prove that every source, HDR mode or game can run at 4K/120Hz. Interpolation can also create artifacts and may add processing latency, so many players would disable MEMC for games.

These are launch specifications and marketing claims. The available reports do not provide independent measurements of input lag, response time, HDR brightness, contrast, ghosting or real-world color performance.

Gaming features: useful, but not fully verified
HDMI 2.1 is relevant because it can carry higher-bandwidth signals, while VRR can synchronize the display’s refresh with a compatible console or graphics card. AMD FreeSync Premium certification is an additional compatibility claim. However, the launch reports do not establish the details a buyer would need for a complete 4K/120Hz assessment:

- Which HDMI ports provide the full high-bandwidth mode.
- Whether 4K/120Hz works simultaneously with HDR and VRR.
- The supported VRR operating range.
- Measured input latency and response time.
- Chroma behavior at 4K/120Hz.
- Support for automatic low-latency mode.
Consequently, the XT should be described as advertising 4K/120Hz-class gaming features, not as independently proven to deliver every 4K/120Hz configuration on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S or PC.

China launch prices and preorder promotion
The following figures were reported as October 2022 China preorder prices. They are not current 2026 prices.

The preorder period was reported as October 24 through November 3 and included an HDMI 2.1 cable as a promotional gift. The conflicting 75-inch figures appear in IT之家 and MyDrivers; neither figure should be silently treated as definitive without an original product listing to reconcile them.

Was it sold outside China?
The documented launch was in China, with prices in yuan. The available evidence does not establish an official US, European or broader international release, nor a valid 2026 retail price. An imported unit could involve Chinese-language software, different streaming-app support, region-specific casting, uncertain warranty service, broadcast-tuner differences and power or mains-compatibility checks. A 2022 yuan launch price should not be converted into a current US buying recommendation.

- Confirm that the intended console or PC can actually output the desired resolution and frame rate.
- Verify which HDMI ports support the relevant bandwidth and whether HDR and VRR can operate together.
- Find an independent input-lag measurement rather than relying on a general low-latency claim.
- Check peak brightness, HDR tone mapping and local-dimming information; the launch reports do not establish these.
- Confirm software language, streaming services, tuner standards, voltage requirements and out-of-region warranty coverage.
- Plan for shipping and repair logistics: a large imported television can be expensive and difficult to return.
How newer Xiaomi and Redmi TVs put the XT in context
The XT is a 2022 model, not a current-generation revision. Reporting on the later Redmi TV X 2026 series describes Mini LED backlighting, 4K/144Hz operation, lower-resolution modes up to 288Hz, dual full-bandwidth HDMI 2.1 ports and HyperOS 3; those are separate products, not XT upgrades. Xiaomi’s current global TV Max 100 page also uses “dual 120Hz” and 4K 120Hz MEMC terminology alongside HDMI 2.1. That demonstrates continued use of similar wording, but does not show that the Redmi XT received a global release: official Xiaomi TV Max 100 page.
Bottom line for gamers
At its reported China launch prices, the Redmi XT offered an unusually ambitious feature list for an affordable 4K television: a 120Hz panel, HDMI 2.1, VRR, FreeSync Premium and large screen sizes. Its “dual 120Hz” headline should be read precisely as native refresh plus MEMC interpolation. Because independent gaming measurements, detailed port behavior, HDR results and international support are not established, imported XT units are best treated as a China-market 2022 product rather than a verified 2026 alternative for PS5, Xbox or PC gaming.
