Regidrago is a pure Dragon-type Pokémon, so Dragon, Fairy, and Ice attacks are super effective against it. Dragon-type raid counters can deal high damage, but they are vulnerable to Regidrago’s own Dragon moves; Fairy and Ice attackers are often the safer choice when its moveset includes Dragon attacks. For a Dragon-type PvE moveset, use Dragon Breath and Dragon Energy—both are legacy moves.
What is Regidrago weak against in Pokémon Go?
Regidrago is pure Dragon type. It is weak to Dragon-, Fairy-, and Ice-type attacks, and resists Electric, Fire, Grass, and Water attacks. That makes Dragons strong offensively, but the matchup comes with a risk: Regidrago can use Dragon Breath, Dragon Energy, Breaking Swipe, Outrage, and Dragon Pulse, which can quickly threaten Dragon-type attackers.

Fairy and Ice counters trade some of the Dragon-on-Dragon damage race for better practical survivability against Dragon attacks. Regidrago can also use Hyper Beam, so the best choice depends on its moveset as well as your Pokémon’s levels, moves, and available team.
What are the best Regidrago raid counters?
Pokémon GO Hub Database’s September 2026 simulator ranking puts Mega Rayquaza first, followed by Eternatus and Mega Dragonite. These are modeled rankings, not a guaranteed best team for every player: the ranking is based on adjustable raid conditions, and its methodology warns that simulator estimates may differ from raid results.

The figures in the first three rows are Pokémon GO Hub Database simulator outputs for its September 2026 ranking, accessed October 8, 2026. They are estimates, not observed raid results; the ranking’s methodology says friendship and Mega damage boosts are not included in its displayed estimates. Its simulated Tier 5 setup uses 15,000 HP and adjustable conditions such as weather, Party Power, Mega/Primal Pokémon, Shadows, and legacy-move availability. Changing those inputs can change the order.
Choose for the boss’s moves, not just the leaderboard
Pokémon GO Hub’s raid guide recommends using lobby suggestions as a clue to the boss’s moveset: Fairy and Ice recommendations may indicate Dragon attacks, while Dragon recommendations may suggest Hyper Beam. Lobby recommendations are not a certain way to identify a move, so treat them as a hint rather than confirmation. If you expect Dragon attacks, favor Fairy or Ice options that can stay in longer; if Hyper Beam is the concern, Dragon counters may be a more comfortable offensive choice.

Can you solo Regidrago?
Pokémon GO Hub’s June 2026 raid guide estimates a solo is possible with strong counters, recommending level 40 or higher and ideally level 50 Pokémon. It estimates that two trainers with perfect counters or four or more trainers with weaker counters can also win. These are strategy estimates, not guarantees: movesets, levels, weather, and play conditions can change the result.

For PvE Dragon damage
Use Dragon Breath + Dragon Energy for Regidrago as a Dragon-type PvE attacker. Pokémon GO Hub Database recommends this combination and marks both moves as legacy. Its assessment is that Dragon Energy is substantially stronger for the Dragon attacker role than Regidrago’s other charged attacks.

If you do not have Dragon Energy, Dragon Breath with Breaking Swipe or Outrage appears as a weaker PvE alternative in the ranking table; neither should be treated as an equal replacement. Legacy move access can depend on special events or Elite TMs, so check the current in-game method before using a scarce item.
For PvP
The database lists Dragon Breath + Dragon Energy + Vise Grip for Great, Ultra, and Master League. It describes Regidrago as a possible Great League spice pick and relatively stronger in Ultra League, while noting its low Defense and pure Dragon typing. Its assessment also points to stronger stat totals and dominant Fairy types as challenges in Master League.

Those are database editorial assessments, not a current-season PvP ranking. Pokémon GO Hub’s separate PvP analysis dates to March 2023 and calls Regidrago’s Master League outlook exceptionally poor for the historical meta; that old assessment should not be read as a present-day ranking.
