Rellana, Twin Moon Knight is the major boss in the final chamber of Castle Ensis in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. She fights with two swords, fast attack chains and glintblades before adding dangerous magic-and-fire attacks in her second phase. Her Remembrance offers either the hybrid melee weapon Rellana’s Twin Blades or the 72-Intelligence sorcery Rellana’s Twin Moons.
Where to find Rellana, Twin Moon Knight
Rellana is at the end of Castle Ensis. From the Castle-Lord’s Chamber Site of Grace, continue to the final chamber to reach the boss fog. Castle Ensis is an early major dungeon in the Realm of Shadow, but the fight is not available until you have entered the expansion’s new region.
Requirements to enter the Realm of Shadow
Bandai Namco’s official access guidance says you must defeat Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood before entering the Shadow Realm. The expansion also requires the Elden Ring base game.
Use Scadutree Blessings
Scadutree Fragments raise your Scadutree Blessing level. In the Shadow Realm, that blessing increases attack power and damage negation; its effects do not carry back into the Lands Between. Collecting fragments before attempting Rellana can therefore improve both your damage and survivability without changing your equipment.

What makes the Rellana fight difficult
The encounter is built around speed and sustained pressure. The guide from Mobalytics, updated August 26, 2026, describes long chains of physical sword attacks, glintblades that restrict your movement and very small openings between attacks. Treat the recommendations below as guide advice rather than independently reproduced testing.
First phase: physical pressure and glintblades
- Rellana closes distance quickly with her paired swords and can continue a combo longer than expected.
- Glintblades add ranged pressure while you are trying to heal, reposition or wait for an opening.
- Do not assume that a single blocked or dodged strike ends her sequence; watch for the full chain before committing to a counterattack.
Second phase: magic, fire and projectiles
According to the guide, the second phase begins after Rellana has lost at least 55% of her health. Her attacks become empowered with magic and fire, and she gains explosive effects and additional projectiles. The arena becomes more dangerous because attacks that were previously simple melee exchanges can now cover a larger area or punish you for staying close too long.

How to approach the battle
Wait for real openings
Stay focused on her weapon animations rather than attacking whenever you are technically in range. The safest opportunities come after a completed chain or a clearly telegraphed special move. Preserve stamina for an emergency dodge, especially once the second phase begins.

Parrying option
Mobalytics notes that many of Rellana’s sword attacks can be parried once their timing is learned. It specifically identifies a Buckler with Carian Retaliation as a parry tool. This is a timing-based option, not a requirement for victory: failed parries leave you exposed to her follow-up attacks.

The same guide advises against trying to parry every glintblade. Treat the blades as a separate ranged hazard and prioritize positioning or evasion instead of forcing a parry attempt.
Responding to Twin Moons
When Rellana uses her Twin Moons attack, the guide recommends jumping over the shockwaves. The move demands attention to timing and spacing; a panic roll or a late jump can still leave you inside the next wave. Keep enough room to read the attack rather than standing directly against a wall or in a corner.

General survival checklist
- Enter with Scadutree Blessing upgrades collected in the areas you have already explored.
- Keep the boss in view so glintblades and fire-enhanced attacks do not arrive off-screen.
- Heal only after a finished attack sequence or after creating clear distance.
- Choose either a patient dodge-and-punish plan or a practiced parry plan; switching between them randomly makes the timing harder to read.
Rellana’s Remembrance rewards
Defeating Rellana gives the Remembrance of the Twin Moon Knight. Enia can exchange it for one of two rewards. The choice is based on your build and preferred combat style, not on an established universal best option.

Which remembrance reward should you take?
- Pick Twin Blades if your character already invests in Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence and Faith, or if you want to fight with a distinctive light greatsword stance.
- Pick Twin Moons if you can reach the 72 Intelligence requirement, have two spell slots available and prefer sorcery casting over close-range weapon attacks.
- Do not choose on damage claims alone: the available guidance does not establish either reward as definitively superior in every build.
Which version of Shadow of the Erdtree do you need?
Shadow of the Erdtree is an expansion and requires the Elden Ring base game. Official publisher listings include editions that bundle the base game with the expansion, while Bandai Namco Europe has described physical retail versions for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Check your platform, region and current stock before buying: a standalone DLC listing is not the same product as an edition that includes the base game.
