For a genuinely continuous prerecorded YouTube channel, Gyre is the closer documented fit: its product page describes looping playlists that restart automatically in the cloud. Restream is better documented for scheduled, finite prerecorded events; its looping is limited to 10 plays and a maximum 40 hours per event, and playlists do not loop natively. If you want a simpler cloud option with one flat price per slot for any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps, consider StreamNeo first.
How to choose for an always-on channel
The key distinction is whether you need an ongoing playlist or a scheduled event with an end point. A cloud service can remove the need to keep your own computer online, but it cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability, channel growth, or monetization.
- Choose StreamNeo first if you want a YouTube-only cloud loop: it runs continuously from uploaded videos, at any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps, for one flat price per slot, with a free first day.
- Choose Gyre if you want the documented workflow of uploading videos, arranging a looping playlist, scheduling a 24/7 broadcast, and having the playlist restart automatically.
- Choose Restream if scheduled prerecorded events, automatic starts, connected destinations beyond YouTube, and monitoring chat during an event matter more than an endless native playlist loop.
For the details behind that distinction, see Gyre’s product page, Restream’s prerecorded-event instructions, and Restream’s looping instructions. Limits and prices below are as published in the official pages reviewed on October 3, 2026; verify current terms before buying.
Gyre vs Restream: the practical differences
| Decision point | Gyre | Restream |
|---|---|---|
| Continuous loop | Describes looping playlists and automatic restart when a playlist ends. | Documents up to 10 plays and a maximum 40-hour event; playlists do not loop natively. |
| Scheduling | Describes scheduling a 24/7 broadcast. | Scheduled prerecorded events can start automatically, including while you are offline. |
| Computer during broadcast | Says the cloud stream continues with the computer off, browser closed, or internet disconnected. | Says scheduled events begin automatically while the operator is offline. |
| Library and storage | Storage is presented by plan tier; check the current plan for its allowance. | The prerecorded-event page lists library tiers of 2, 4, or 12 hours. |
| Resolution and simultaneous streams | Plan tiers distinguish resolution and concurrent stream capacity; check current plan details. | The listed add-ons support up to 1080p for Premier and Marathon, and up to 4K for Media. |
| Published add-on price | The price display on the reviewed page was ambiguous; confirm the price and billing interval at checkout. | Premier: $39/month; Marathon: $79/month; Media: $239/month, as listed in the help page reviewed October 3, 2026. Verify current checkout pricing. |
Both services are listed in YouTube’s encoder help directory. That directory listing is not a certification of stream quality, channel eligibility, or compliance with YouTube policy.

What Gyre does well for a continuous playlist
Gyre’s described process is to upload video to its storage, use its converter, arrange the videos into a playlist, connect the YouTube account, schedule a 24/7 broadcast, and start it. Its product page says, “Playlist ends, it restarts.” It also says the cloud broadcast continues while your computer is off or disconnected.
Gyre presents different plan tiers for storage, resolution, and simultaneous streams, so compare those limits with the length and quality of your videos and the number of channels you intend to run. The price shown on the reviewed page was unclear, so check the live checkout before making a cost comparison.

Where Restream fits—and where its loop limit matters
Restream’s prerecorded-event workflow lets you schedule a video to air automatically to selected connected channels. Its help page says the event can begin even when you are offline, and you can monitor the stream and chat while it runs.
Restream’s documented loop constraints
- A single video can be looped up to 10 times.
- A looped event can run for no more than 40 hours.
- Playlists do not natively loop. Restream says videos can be duplicated in a playlist, which is limited to 40 videos.
- Looping is a paid feature; the help page lists it for Marathon and Media.
The prerecorded-event help page lists Premier at $39/month with a 2-hour video library and up to 1080p; Marathon at $79/month with a 4-hour library and up to 1080p; and Media at $239/month with a 12-hour library and up to 4K. The same page says looping is available with Marathon and Media. These are the page’s listed monthly add-on prices, not a guarantee of the current checkout price or total cost; confirm current plan requirements and pricing before subscribing. Restream’s pricing FAQ says Upload & Stream is available and that plans are based on destination count and additional features.

Check YouTube rights and channel policies before looping
Using a cloud service changes where the video is streamed from, not whether you have the rights to stream it or whether it meets YouTube’s rules. Before scheduling a long-running broadcast:
- Confirm that you own or have permission for every video, song, image, and other element in the stream, including material that may trigger a rights claim.
- Review current YouTube live-stream and monetization policies for your channel and content. A stream being technically accepted by an encoder does not establish policy compliance or monetization eligibility.
- Make the programming meaningfully suitable for viewers rather than relying on endless repetition. No reviewed source establishes that continuous prerecorded streaming by itself increases views, watch time, revenue, or monetization eligibility.
- Check the final title, description, thumbnail, audience settings, and stream destination in YouTube before the broadcast begins.
Compare the total operating fit, not just the headline price
For either service, check the current plan’s video capacity, resolution, concurrent stream allowance, destination support, and support arrangements. Also consider whether you need a continuous playlist or only scheduled finite events. Restream’s listed add-ons have explicit library and resolution tiers; Gyre presents tiered storage, resolution, and simultaneous-stream capacity, but its reviewed price display was ambiguous.

A cloud workflow can avoid leaving a home PC running, but it is not a promise of uninterrupted service. Neither the ability to schedule nor an encoder-directory listing guarantees that YouTube will keep a particular broadcast live or that a channel will grow.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can Restream stream prerecorded video 24/7?
Its documented looping has a limit of 10 plays and 40 hours per event, and playlists do not natively loop. That makes it a better documented fit for finite events than an ongoing 24/7 playlist.
Does Gyre keep a YouTube livestream running when my computer is off?
Gyre says its cloud stream continues when your computer is off, browser closed, or internet disconnected. This describes its service workflow, not a guarantee against every interruption.
