Retroid announced the Pocket 6 and Pocket G2 in October 2025, but their launch prices are no longer a reliable guide to what you can pay. As of October 8, 2026, Retroid’s Pocket 6 product page is indexed at $244 and marked sold out; the Pocket G2’s reported $199 price was a two-week introductory offer in 2025. Check current stock and checkout totals before deciding.
What are the Retroid Pocket 6 and Pocket G2?
They are separate Android gaming handhelds announced in October 2025. Announcement coverage described the Pocket G2 as the first gaming handheld to ship with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon G2 Gen 2 chipset. Retroid’s official Pocket 6 listing specifies a different, higher-tier-sounding chipset: Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Those names identify different processors, but the available specifications alone do not establish how the devices compare in real-world gaming or emulation.
The announcement and chipset description for the G2 were reported by Android Authority on October 27, 2025. Retroid’s current Pocket 6 listing is the primary source for that model’s published hardware.
What does the Pocket 6 offer?
Retroid lists the following hardware on its Pocket 6 product page:

- Android 13 and active cooling
- 6000mAh battery
- Hall-effect sticks, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.3
These are manufacturer-listed specifications, not independent test results. They do not by themselves tell you how long the battery lasts, how hot the device gets, or which games and emulators run well. Retroid’s listing also does not establish a maximum TF-card capacity or a specific card speed requirement. See the Retroid Pocket 6 product page for its published configuration and availability.
Are the original prices still available?
Not on the evidence of the launch announcements alone. The Pocket 6’s announced $229 figure is historical, while the Pocket G2’s reported $199 was a limited introductory offer lasting the first two weeks after announcement—not a current-price promise.

| Model or price | What the figure means | Source and date |
|---|---|---|
| Pocket 6: $229 | Announced price in October 2025; not confirmation of today’s selling price | Pocket Retro Gamer, published November 7, 2025; updated September 2, 2026 |
| Pocket G2: $199 | Reported introductory offer for the first two weeks, not a verified current price | Android Authority, October 27, 2025 |
| Pocket 6: $244 | Price indexed on Retroid’s official listing as of the October 8, 2026 research timestamp; the page was marked sold out, so this is not proof that a purchase at that price is possible | Retroid official listing, checked for this article October 8, 2026 |
| Pocket 6 reseller prices: $429.99 and $599.99 | Prices reported for LitNXT and MechDIY respectively in a September 2, 2026 update; not independently confirmed as current on October 8, 2026 | Pocket Retro Gamer, update dated September 2, 2026 |
These figures are not directly equivalent offers: they come from different dates, sellers, and availability conditions. Before ordering, confirm that the model and configuration are in stock and compare the final checkout amount, including shipping and taxes. An indexed listing price does not guarantee that a transaction can be completed at that price.
What is the difference between the Retroid Pocket 6 and Pocket G2?
The established distinction is their announced chipset: the Pocket 6’s official listing names Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, while October 2025 announcement coverage associated the Pocket G2 with Snapdragon G2 Gen 2. The available evidence here does not provide a current, authoritative G2 specification sheet, so it is not enough for a complete comparison of screen, memory, storage, battery, controls, or current delivered price.

For a buying decision, verify both models’ current manufacturer specifications and checkout availability rather than assuming that the launch prices or partial chipset information settle which is better value. The Pocket 6’s TF card slot may be useful if you want expandable storage, but check Retroid’s current guidance before choosing a card.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is the Retroid Pocket 6 worth it?
Its listed feature set is substantial on paper: a 120Hz 1080p AMOLED display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, up to 12GB LPDDR5x memory, and a 6000mAh battery. Whether it is worth buying depends on an obtainable price and your needs; there are no verified hands-on results here to support a claim about performance, emulation compatibility, thermals, or battery runtime. With the official listing marked sold out in the October 8, 2026 snapshot and reseller prices previously reported well above the announced $229, treat the old launch figure as context, not a bargain you can count on today.
