Nintendo’s product information explains the game’s modes, bundle and console compatibility, but it cannot substantiate a reviewer’s personal experience over two weeks. This review therefore separates what Nintendo documents from what a firsthand review would need to establish.
What Ring Fit Adventure is
In the game, the Ring-Con detects movement and exertion, while the Leg Strap holds a Joy-Con against the thigh to register lower-body movement. Nintendo’s examples include jogging in place to move through the game world and squats or twists as attacks. Exercise is built into the game’s controls rather than added as a separate activity. Nintendo UK lists more than 60 real-world exercises, over 100 levels and more than 20 worlds. Those are publisher-provided content counts, not independent evidence of workout quality, difficulty or how long it takes to complete the game. Nintendo’s UK game page also describes an estimated pulse-rate feature that uses a Joy-Con’s infrared motion camera; that feature should not be treated as a clinical measurement.

Nintendo lists four modes, suited to different ways of using the game:

- Adventure: The longer-form campaign, where exercise-driven play takes place in a fantasy world. Nintendo calls it a long-term fitness program; that is the publisher’s description, not an independent assessment of its effectiveness.
- Quick Play: Short fitness minigames.
- Custom: Lets players combine selected activities and exercise at an individual pace.
- Multitask: Lets players use the Ring-Con on its own while watching television or doing another activity. Nintendo’s description does not establish that this mode tracks a full workout in the same way as the main game.
These options mean the game is not limited to progressing through its campaign: Nintendo also provides shorter play and a way to assemble selected activities. The descriptions above are from Nintendo’s game-mode guide.
What comes with Ring Fit Adventure?
Nintendo of America’s Q&A lists the original package as the Ring Fit Adventure game card, Ring-Con and Leg Strap. Both accessories are functional parts of the movement-control system, so check that a retail listing—especially a used one—includes them as well as the game card.

The same US and Canadian support page lists original suggested retail prices of $79.99 USD and $99.99 CAD; it does not state the year for those prices. They are historical suggested prices, not confirmed current prices. Check the retailer’s live listing for the current price, condition and package contents. Nintendo’s US page says the bundle was sold as a physical game card packaged with the accessories and that Nintendo had no plans at that time to sell those accessories individually at retail. In the UK, Nintendo’s separate Q&A says replacement accessories can be ordered through its Accessories section, so replacement availability varies by region:
Can you play Ring Fit Adventure on Nintendo Switch 2 or Switch Lite?
Nintendo says Ring Fit Adventure works on Nintendo Switch 2 if you attach original Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controllers to the Ring-Con and put one in the Leg Strap. Joy-Con 2 controllers do not attach to the Ring-Con or fit in the Leg Strap, so a Switch 2 owner needs original Joy-Con controllers for this game.

Switch Lite use also requires separate Joy-Con controllers and a stand. Nintendo recommends a standard Nintendo Switch or Switch OLED for the experience. Check the console and controller setup before buying; having the game card alone is not enough if the required accessories or compatible controllers are missing. Nintendo’s published information establishes how Ring Fit Adventure is designed, which modes it offers and what hardware it requires. It does not show how enjoyable, comfortable, challenging or easy to sustain the game is for a particular player over two weeks. Nor does it establish personal outcomes such as soreness, calories burned, weight change or workout adherence. Those claims require a reviewer’s actual, documented play and should not be inferred from Nintendo’s feature descriptions.
Anyone concerned about their ability to take part should follow Nintendo’s advice to consult a doctor or relevant fitness professional before starting a fitness regimen. Nintendo’s Q&A includes this caution.
