Treat the headline as an unverified claim, not an announced move.
Does the headline refer to Riyad Mahrez?
Possibly. A 19 July 2023 CBS Sports report described Mahrez as a five-time Premier League champion. A forum post surfaced in search results that calls him 35 and repeats a claim that he may be close to joining Al-Shabab. That post is not reliable confirmation, and the available material does not establish that Mahrez is definitely the unnamed player in the headline.
Has a new transfer agreement been confirmed?
No. The current agreement claim is not substantiated by an official club announcement or a reliable current report in the available sources. The Al-Shabab mention comes from a TWTD.co.uk forum post, which relays an unverified report; it does not establish that a deal has been agreed.
What does the 2023 Al-Ahli deal tell us?
Only the history of Mahrez’s earlier move. CBS Sports reported on 19 July 2023 that Manchester City had agreed a €35 million deal with Al-Ahli for him. That figure belongs to that reported 2023 transfer, not to the unconfirmed move in the headline, and it cannot verify a later destination or agreement.

Who is the ex-Arsenal player?
The available evidence does not identify the supposed former Arsenal player or confirm that the player is joining the same club as Mahrez. A 2025 Goal.com article about Kyle Walker’s toughest opponents mentions former Arsenal player Samir Nasri, but it has no demonstrated connection to this transfer claim. It should not be treated as evidence of who the headline means.
