The official DIG Roblox listing describes the core loop: start a dig with your shovel, time your clicks, and finish when the progress bar empties.
How do you dig in Roblox DIG?
- Equip or hold your shovel, then click to start digging.
- Watch the moving marker and click when it reaches the colored weak spot.
- Monitor endurance while you work. A missed timing opportunity can reduce it; the official listing warns that if endurance reaches zero, you may lose the treasure.
- Continue until the progress bar empties, then collect the loot.
The listing puts the key cues plainly: “Hold out your shovel and click to start digging” and “When your progress bar on the left empties; you’ll dig up your loot!”
What should a beginner do first?
Start in Fox Town, learn the timing minigame, and sell finds to build funds for upgrades. Pick up available quests as you explore, and compare a shovel’s cost with the digging stats or perks you need rather than buying solely by name or ranking.
A June 30, 2025 route from Pro Game Guides suggests earning toward a Lucky Shovel in Fox Town before moving toward Cinder Shores. Treat that as a dated route, not a guaranteed best strategy for current balance. That guide discusses Strength, Haste, and Luck as attributes to weigh; check the live item’s price and effects before spending.

What else is there to do beyond digging?
DIG combines digging with exploration and progression systems. A Beebom overview last updated July 11, 2025 covers shovels, enchantments, charms, totems, magnets, mutations, vehicles, titles, weather events, quests, and bosses. Vehicles help with map traversal, while special weather events may alter play or offer event-specific items. Specific event behavior and rewards can change, so check what is active in-game instead of relying on an old list.
- Quests: Take available tasks as you move through the world; they add goals alongside collecting finds.
- Equipment and perks: Consider the task and area you have reached when comparing shovels and other progression items.
- Events and bosses: These are broader activities beyond the basic dig loop, but current schedules, rewards, and encounter details are not established by older guides.
Where should you explore?
Fox Town is the clearest supported starting-area reference. A July 1, 2025 location guide names destinations including Fernhill Forest, Cinder Shores, Verdant Vale, Rooftop Woodlands, Cinder Approach, and Mount Cider. Map access, coordinates, and conditions may change; use in-game navigation and quest clues rather than assuming old coordinates remain accurate. That location guide also reports that weather or climate can matter for some finds, but this should be treated as a guide claim, not a universal rule.

Which controls should you use?
The official listing emphasizes clicking to dig but does not establish a universal control layout for every device. A community-maintained controls page lists WASD to move, E to interact, left mouse button to dig, Space to jump, and G to open the backpack. Because that page says it is still being written and bindings can vary by platform, confirm the controls shown in your own game.
