Search for the person’s Roblox username or open their profile, then look for Join Experience. It appears only when they are in an experience and their settings let you see and join them; even then, you may not have permission to enter that experience or server.
How to check what experience someone is playing
- Search for the person’s Roblox username, or open their profile.
- Look in the search results or on the profile for Join Experience.
- If it appears, select it to try to join. You still need permission to access the experience or server.
Roblox Support explains: “As long as your friend has the join in-experience setting enabled, you will be able to join them in an experience with a click of a button.” The option is conditional on the person being in an experience and allowing others to follow or join them. Why you may not see their current game
Roblox provides a Show current experience visibility setting. The account holder can choose who is allowed to see their current experience; if you are outside that audience, the activity will not be shown to you. The setting is under Settings > Privacy & content restrictions > Visibility & private servers > Visibility. Available audience choices vary by age and region. If the experience is hidden from you, Roblox’s visibility controls are the relevant limit; there is no supported way to bypass them.

Why joining can fail even when the experience is visible
A visible Join Experience option does not override access rules. Roblox Error Code 524 typically means you do not have permission to join an experience or private server. Roblox lists restrictive privacy settings, lacking an invitation or membership for a private server, and temporary experience or server availability issues among possible causes. Use a Party to coordinate group play
If you and your friends want to start together, Roblox Party lets members join experiences as a group and stay in the same servers. Party settings and age-dependent communication features can affect how it works. Party helps coordinate a group; it does not bypass experience or server access permissions. Roblox Support: Party.
