If Roblox reports an incident, wait for its updates; repeated password resets will not fix a service outage. If the platform is operational, follow the steps below for the specific login problem. Not every account can be recovered: Roblox requires proof of ownership, and some self-service options only work if a recovery method was added to the account beforehand.
What happens when Roblox is down?
Roblox directs players to its Status page for current service information. Check the live page rather than relying on an earlier report: status can change. Incidents or maintenance can delay or prevent joining experiences and cause lag or delays across the website, platform, or apps.
If the relevant service is listed as affected, wait for Roblox’s status updates before troubleshooting your password or account. If the status page shows the service is operational, continue with the symptom that matches your problem.
I Forgot My Password
- On the Roblox login page, select Forgot Password or Username?, then choose recovery by email or phone.
- Enter the email address or phone number already associated with the account. If using email, check spam or junk if the message does not arrive.
- Follow the reset link or code and choose a new password that you do not reuse for another account.
Password reset is self-service only when an email address or phone number is attached to the account. If neither is attached, contact Roblox Support with a detailed description of the problem. Roblox requires account ownership to be verified before it will reset an account or change its information, so Support cannot guarantee recovery.

I Forgot My Username
Use Forgot Password or Username? on the login page and try an email address or phone number already added to the account. Roblox also says purchase receipts may contain the username. If you have no associated email, phone, or purchase history, those recovery paths cannot retrieve the username; contact Roblox Support if you have other evidence of ownership.
I’m having an issue logging in with the account email
Email sign-in requires a verified email address associated with the account. Check for typing errors and confirm that the address belongs to the account you are trying to open. If you are unsure, try signing in with the username instead. When one email address is associated with multiple Roblox usernames, Roblox requires username sign-in.

I’m not receiving a one-time email code
Email one-time codes are available only to some users and require a verified email address. Confirm that you entered the exact email associated with the account, check spam or junk, and request a fresh code. If codes remain unavailable, try signing in with your password instead. Roblox advises using the same device on which you requested the code.
Never share a one-time code with anyone. Roblox will never contact you to ask for it.

I’m not receiving the 2-step verification email
- Check the inbox for the email address associated with the account, including spam, junk, promotions, and other filtered folders.
- Add Roblox’s no-reply address to your contacts, then select Resend Code or Start Over to restart the email-code flow.
- Use a newly requested code promptly. Roblox says email 2-Step Verification codes expire after 15 minutes; an incorrect entry can also make the code stop working for that account.
- If fresh codes still fail, choose another verification method offered for the account or contact Roblox Customer Support.
My email 2-step verification code does not work
Request a new code using Resend Code or restart with Start Over, then enter the latest code for the correct account. Do not keep retrying an old code: email 2-Step Verification codes expire after 15 minutes, and an incorrect entry can invalidate a code. If another new code fails, use a different configured verification method or contact Roblox Customer Support.
My Authenticator verification code does not work
Enter the code currently displayed in the authenticator app configured for that Roblox account. If it is rejected, try another verification method offered at sign-in. If no available method works, contact Roblox Customer Support; account verification may be required before Roblox can help restore access.

Second-device approval or a lost verification method
If Roblox asks you to approve a sign-in on another device, use a device where you are already signed in. If that is unavailable, choose another offered method, such as an email code or a saved backup code. Deny any prompt you did not initiate and change your password, since an unexpected approval request may mean someone else knows it.
If you lose your primary 2-Step Verification method, recovery may require two different account verification methods. Roblox’s recovery guidance does not promise that one unavailable method can simply be bypassed; follow the methods offered for your account or contact Support.

Quick Login on a new device
Quick Login authorizes a new device from a device where you are already signed in. The displayed code lasts five minutes. Enter only a code you requested, review the login details, and approve access only if the request is yours. Quick Login may not be available to every player and is unavailable on Xbox.
If a QR code will not work, use the current Roblox app and, if needed, a separate QR reader; you can also use the displayed six-character code. Never approve a login request you did not start.
Issues Logging In or Out in a Browser
Try Roblox’s general website troubleshooting steps one at a time. Browser sign-in problems can involve general website errors, CAPTCHA loading, or an inaccurate computer clock.
- CAPTCHA does not load: Roblox says to allowlist
.arkoselabs.comand.funcaptcha.comin relevant filtering or security settings. Do not bypass CAPTCHA or other account protections. - Clock is inaccurate: Check that the computer’s date and time are correct; Roblox notes that an incorrect clock can cause problems.
- Website trouble persists: Clear temporary internet files and cookies, then try again.
- Still cannot sign in: Reset the password if appropriate. If the browser issue remains, contact Roblox Support.
Set up recovery options before you are locked out
While signed in, add and verify an email address so it can be used for recovery. Phone verification is available only in select countries. Roblox says players under 13 can ask a parent to add a verified parental recovery email.
Roblox lists several security and recovery options, including passkeys, authenticator apps, second-device approval, security keys, and backup codes. Set up methods that you can access, and store backup codes somewhere safe. Each backup code can be used once; generating a new set deactivates the older set. A physical security key is optional, not a fix for a service outage or a substitute for account recovery. Roblox names YubiKey 5 and Google Titan Security Key as examples, and availability depends on device, browser, and operating-system support.
