For a quick starting point: Pocket Gamer’s September 2, 2026 guide places Archer, Magician, and Samurai in S tier, and ranks Seraphim, Human, Elf, Slime, and Dullahan in the species S tier. These are guide opinions, not official or measured rankings—and the guide contains roster inconsistencies. Use the lists as a starting point, then choose for the role and traits you actually want.
Rune Slayer class tier list
The latest located class-and-species ranking is Pocket Gamer’s guide, updated September 2, 2026. Its class placements are:
| Tier | Classes |
|---|---|
| S | Archer, Magician, Samurai |
| A | Warrior |
| B | Thief, Striker |
| C | Priest |
Pocket Gamer’s tier list describes Archer as a burst-damage pick for PvE and PvP, Magician as a long-range damage dealer with buffs for itself and allies, Warrior as a durable melee fighter with crowd control, Thief as a quick but fragile assassin, Striker as a melee gauntlet user less tanky than Warrior, and Priest as a healer whose value rises in a team despite limited solo damage.
How to choose a class for your play style
- Prefer range and burst? Archer fits the guide’s damage-focused description; Magician also attacks from range and adds buffs.
- Want to stay in melee? Warrior is the more durable, crowd-control-oriented option in the guide’s descriptions. Striker is another melee choice, but is described as less tanky.
- Want speed over durability? Thief is the guide’s fast, squishy assassin.
- Expect to support a group? Priest offers healing, while Magician provides buffs alongside damage.
These are role descriptions, not controlled comparisons. The located guides do not provide comparable DPS figures, win rates, or solo-versus-party performance measurements.

Why class lists do not agree
Pocket Gamer says the game has six classes, yet its tier table includes Samurai in addition to the six base classes it discusses. MobileMatters lists Warrior, Archer, Magician, Striker, Thief, and Priest, but its August 2026 ranking uses Ranger instead of Archer, places Priest in S, and puts Magician in A. The two guides therefore differ in both naming and placement; do not assume Ranger and Archer are interchangeable without checking the current in-game labels. MobileMatters’ class tier list is an alternative editorial view.
Rune Slayer species tier list
Pocket Gamer’s September 2, 2026 table ranks species as follows:

| Tier | Species |
|---|---|
| S | Seraphim, Human, Elf, Slime, Dullahan |
| A | Vampire, Orc, Half-Golem, Ailuran |
| B | Infernim, Bunny, Ghoul |
| C | Amphibu, Chiroptran |
The same guide says there are 12 species, while the table names 14. Treat the table as that guide’s ranking rather than a definitive roster count. Another recent guide, Gamezebo’s race ranking, places Slime and Half-Golem in S tier, illustrating that assessments can differ with the traits a guide values. Gamezebo’s race tier list provides that alternative.
Traits that may matter more than tier
Pocket Gamer highlights Seraphim’s +2.5% fire resistance and +1 Luck; Human’s increased damage against undead and Surge stamina effect; Elf’s reduced cooldown and invisibility; and Slime’s passive HP restoration from collected blobs. These descriptions can help narrow a choice by build or preferred abilities, but the guide does not establish that any one trait produces a particular overall performance advantage.

Rank #3
- Join forces to help Frodo make his way across Middle Earth and complete his quest to destroy the one ring
- In this cooperative strategy game players will roll dice and draw cards to try and avoid the ring wraiths and save Middle Earth
- Plays up to four players or can be a solo adventure
- Playtime is approximately 50 minutes
- Immerses you in the world of Tolkein
Gamezebo’s race guide reports additional figures for Human and Elf. It gives Human a 25.3% roll chance and says its Tenacity passive grants a 15% damage buff and 15% damage reduction below 50% HP. For Elf, it reports a 25.3% roll chance, +3% speed, +10% cooldown reduction, and +10% stealth. These are guide-reported values, not independently verified measurements; check the in-game descriptions if exact numbers matter. Gamezebo’s races guide also reports roll chances for other species, but its listed percentages add up to more than 100%, so they should not be read as one complete probability distribution.
How to use these rankings
- Pick a role before a tier. Decide whether you want ranged damage, melee durability or control, fast attacks, healing, or buffs.
- Match the choice to how you play. A class described as a healer may offer more value in a group than when playing solo; a fragile damage dealer may be a poor fit if you prioritize durability.
- Compare species traits with your priorities. Consider whether an ability or bonus supports the role you want, rather than treating an S-tier label as proof that the species is best for every build.
- Check current in-game names and descriptions. The cited guides disagree on class naming and contain a species-count mismatch, so confirm the available roster and exact trait text in your version of Rune Slayer.
Are these official or proven rankings?
No official class or species ranking, developer confirmation of the precise guide claims, or controlled performance data was established in the cited sources. The tier placements are third-party editorial judgments. They can help organize options, but there is no evidence here that an S-tier choice will outperform every lower-ranked choice across builds, activities, and play styles.
