The fixes covered stability, performance, AI, missions, balance, controls, menus, and world behavior. It was not the end of the A-Life work: GSC said those bugs would be addressed in future patches.
What did S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 patch 1.0.1 fix?
In its November 29, 2024 announcement, GSC described 1.0.1 as the game’s first fix patch and reported more than 650 issues addressed. The categories ranged from crashes and mission blockers to combat balance, controller behavior, and presentation. Stability, performance, and AI
GSC said it addressed approximately 100 crashes, including potential memory leaks and EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION errors. The notes also describe fixes for performance drops and potential out-of-memory crashes in crowded locations during long play sessions.
AI fixes included cases where NPCs could get stuck or fail to reach mission locations. These were specific AI and NPC behavior fixes; they did not mean all A-Life problems were resolved.

Mission progression and open-world issues
The patch addressed progression blockers across main and side missions and encounters. Named examples in GSC’s notes include:
- Nightingale’s Hunt
- Seek, and You Shall Find
- There and Back Again
- A Needle in a Haystack
- Answers Come at a Price
- On the Edge
- A Minor Incident
- Visions of Truth
Beyond those examples, GSC estimated approximately 120 other issues across the main story, side missions, and encounters, plus approximately 50 other open-world issues. Those are the developer’s reported counts; the announcement does not establish that every affected player experienced the same issues or outcomes.

Combat and balance changes
The patch reduced weapon and armor repair costs, raised artifact sale values, and increased mission rewards. GSC also listed changes to Rookie difficulty and several mutants. Its notes specify that on Rookie difficulty, damage to the player’s weapon was reduced by 23 percent; armor durability was increased by 12.5 percent. Both figures describe changes reported by GSC in 2024, not independently measured results.
Controls, menus, gear, and presentation
Other fixes included increased gamepad dead zones; settings and menu corrections; gear and inventory fixes; object-physics changes; and updates to NPC models and cutscenes. GSC also noted restored voice lines and facial animations, along with world texture and movement fixes. Together, these changes addressed usability and presentation issues as well as bugs that could interrupt play.

What the patch did not resolve
GSC explicitly said it was still working on A-Life bugs and that they would be addressed in future patches. Patch 1.0.1 therefore should be understood as a broad first fix update, not a claim that the game’s AI simulation or every reported issue was finished. The announcement describes the release on PC and Xbox in November 2024; it does not establish the game’s current version or later patch history.
