S.T.A.L.K.E.R. G.A.M.M.A. is now available on GOG as a One-click Mod, giving players a simpler way to install the sprawling fan-made overhaul. GOG says its package includes over 400 curated mods and more than 100 custom additions; GAMMA itself remains a modpack for the free standalone S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly, not a separate game.
What is S.T.A.L.K.E.R. GAMMA?
G.A.M.M.A. stands for “Grok’s Automated Modular Modpack for Anomaly.” Its maintainer describes it as a modpack for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly, a free standalone game. GAMMA reshapes systems including the economy, weapons, artifacts, graphics, animation, A-life and combat AI, and centers play on survival, scavenging, cooking, crafting and repair. GOG’s December 1, 2025 announcement says the One-click Mod package contains over 400 curated mods and 100+ custom additions. Those are GOG’s package counts, not independently audited totals. Why is GAMMA considered hardcore?
Its difficulty comes from interconnected progression and survival systems rather than a single difficulty setting. GAMMA makes improvement slow and deliberate: traveling farther north brings greater danger but better rewards, while access to stronger equipment is gated by toolkits and rare stashes. Recovered gear may need repair before it is useful.

How do you install GAMMA on GOG?
The GOG One-click Mod is the streamlined option described by GOG: find GAMMA on GOG, confirm that your account meets the listing’s current requirements, then use the listing’s installation flow. GOG says it is ready to install and launch with a single click, rather than requiring players to set up the modpack themselves.

There is also a separate installation route through the maintainer’s wiki or Discord guide. That route involves following the maintainer’s installation guidance rather than using GOG’s one-click distribution; consult the current guide for its steps, as they may change. Do you need Call of Pripyat or S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2?
GSC’s GAMMA page says the GOG version requires either S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat or S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl in the player’s GOG library. GAMMA’s maintainer describes the GOG one-click installation more generally as requiring ownership of one of the base games. Because eligibility may change or differ by region, check the current GOG listing before installing. Is GAMMA an official GSC game?
No: GAMMA is fan-created, and its README says it is not an official product developed by GSC Game World. GSC calls it a fan-made overhaul and says the GOG edition is released with official approval.
