Samsung’s glasses-free 3D gaming monitor is the 27-inch Odyssey 3D G90XF, a 4K, 165Hz display announced in 2025. It uses a lenticular lens, eye tracking and Samsung’s Odyssey 3D Hub to create a stereoscopic image without dedicated 3D glasses—but it does not turn every game or video into 3D automatically. Samsung has since announced a larger 32-inch 6K model, the G90XH; its U.S. price and retail availability were not confirmed in the company’s May 2026 U.S. availability announcement.
Which Odyssey monitor is the glasses-free 3D model?
The original product behind the headline is the Odyssey 3D G90XF, a distinct monitor in Samsung’s 2025 lineup—not an update that adds 3D to an existing Odyssey display. Samsung announced it on March 25, 2025. The newer G90XH is a separate, larger 2026-generation model.

Samsung describes the G90XH as the world’s first 6K glasses-free 3D gaming monitor; that “world’s first” claim is Samsung’s. Its specifications and announcement are detailed in Samsung’s December 2025 global lineup announcement.
How does glasses-free 3D work?
A lenticular lens in front of the screen directs different image information toward each eye. A forward-facing camera tracks the viewer’s eyes, while view-mapping software adjusts depth and perspective as the viewer moves. The two eyes receive slightly different views, creating stereoscopic depth without shutter or polarized glasses.

This is a monitor-based 3D effect, not a transparent hologram or a virtual-reality headset. Its eye tracking and view mapping are designed around a viewer sitting in front of the display, rather than several people watching from different positions. Samsung describes the G90XF’s lens and tracking system in its 2025 launch announcement.
What does the G90XF offer as a regular gaming monitor?
When 3D is off, the G90XF is a 27-inch 4K gaming monitor with a 165Hz refresh rate and a stated 1ms gray-to-gray response time. Samsung also lists AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible support. The model number on Samsung’s U.S. page is LS27FG900XNXZA.

Those specifications describe the G90XF, not the 32-inch G90XH. Samsung’s U.S. G90XF product page listed the monitor at $1,399.99 on August 18, 2026. The page showed delivery and pickup as unavailable at that time, so the listed price should not be read as confirmation that it was in stock. Prices and stock can change.

Not every game automatically displays in 3D. Samsung says the Odyssey 3D Hub must be installed and that only games specified in the Hub can be transferred for 3D gaming. Samsung works with developers to optimize effects for supported games; its launch announcement named The First Berserker: Khazan and Lies of P among collaboration titles.

Samsung said in a March 2026 update that the supported 3D game library exceeded 60 titles, with a target of more than 120 by the end of 2026. The larger number was a future target, not a confirmed count. These are Samsung’s own ecosystem figures, not an independently audited catalog. See the company’s GDC 2026 update.
Optimized games
Developer-optimized titles in the Odyssey 3D Hub are the clearest route to the monitor’s intended gaming mode. A title outside the Hub’s supported list should not be assumed to receive optimized stereoscopic 3D; it may simply run in ordinary 2D.

2D-to-3D video conversion
The G90XF can also convert some ordinary 2D video to a 3D effect, but this is a separate software workflow with more restrictions than simply playing a supported game. Samsung’s launch footnotes specify the following for conversion:
- The Odyssey 3D Hub must be running in the system tray, and video must be playing full-screen.
- Some video players may not work, and DRM-protected content is excluded.
- HDR mode must be off; Samsung says conversion is unavailable while HDR is enabled.
- The conversion workflow supports NVIDIA graphics cards only. Samsung recommends an RTX 3080 or higher and an Intel Core i7 or higher, or AMD Ryzen 7 1700X or higher.
Those CPU and GPU recommendations apply to Samsung’s stated 2D-to-3D conversion workflow; they should not be treated as universal minimum requirements for every monitor function or every optimized game. Samsung’s launch announcement and footnotes provide the conversion qualifications.

What is the 2026 Odyssey 3D G90XH?
The G90XH expands the concept to a 32-inch IPS panel with 6K resolution (6,144 × 3,456), eye tracking and glasses-free 3D. Samsung lists 165Hz at native 6K and a 330Hz mode at 3K, plus a 1ms GtG response time, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.1 and 2D-to-3D conversion. Samsung announced it as part of its 2026 monitor lineup.
Samsung’s March 2026 GDC announcement said the 32-inch monitor would expand the lineup by year’s end. Its May 19, 2026 U.S. announcement about monitor availability listed other products, including an industry-first 6K gaming monitor, but did not provide a G90XH price or retail launch date. Who is the G90XF for—and who should skip it?
It may suit
- PC gamers specifically interested in glasses-free stereoscopic 3D.
- Players of titles supported through the Odyssey 3D Hub, especially those willing to use developer-optimized modes.
- Buyers with compatible, sufficiently powerful PC hardware who want to experiment with 2D-to-3D conversion.
- People who normally sit centered in front of a single desktop monitor.
It may not suit
- Buyers primarily seeking the strongest conventional 2D picture for the money, OLED contrast, or broad viewing angles.
- People who share a screen with several viewers or regularly watch from off-center positions.
- Players who want every game, streaming service, and protected video to work in 3D without checking compatibility.
- Console-first users: Samsung’s described Hub and conversion workflows are PC software features, and the cited material does not establish equivalent console 3D support.
Eye tracking is central to the experience: moving too far from the tracked position can weaken or distort the effect. The display is intended for the tracked viewer, not as a multi-viewer 3D screen. Samsung also describes its conversion as designed to reduce eye strain, but the cited company material does not independently establish that outcome for all viewers.

How does it compare with Samsung’s conventional alternatives?
These U.S. prices were listed on Samsung product pages when checked August 18, 2026; they are not guaranteed current prices or evidence of stock. They are useful comparisons by feature priority, not like-for-like substitutes for glasses-free 3D.

A VR headset is another route if the goal is a surrounding stereoscopic environment rather than a desktop screen. A headset isolates each eye and can support six-degree-of-freedom interaction; the Odyssey remains an ordinary monitor with a tracked, glasses-free 3D mode. They serve different uses, so the cited specifications alone do not establish which provides the better experience.
