Seven games were listed as unavailable on GeForce NOW in a community-posted notice dated April 9, 2026. The affected storefront versions were Asphalt Legends Unite, Disney Dreamlight Valley, Disney Speedstorm, March of Empires, King of Meat, Unturned and SOMA. The notice said the Game Pass version of Disney Dreamlight Valley remained available. That list is community-reproduced, not a directly verified NVIDIA announcement, so it does not establish that every version is gone or that the removals are permanent.
Some players are frustrated because they may own the games and pay for GeForce NOW to play them remotely. But “NVIDIA took down the games” oversimplifies what is known: the service’s catalog depends on publisher and developer participation, and the reported notice described “changes in availability.”
Which games were reported unavailable?
A post in the GeForce NOW community dated April 9, 2026 reproduced a removal notice listing the following storefront versions. It is secondary evidence; the post alone does not confirm the titles’ live status in every region or account.

The April 9 community post does not give a verified removal date for each game, confirm permanent delisting, or establish the status of every region and edition. Treat it as a reported catalog change, not proof that every copy of each title has been removed.

Why can games disappear from GeForce NOW?
GeForce NOW streams supported games associated with users’ own storefront accounts; it is not a guarantee that every PC game in a Steam or Epic library will be available in the cloud. Publisher and developer approval matters. NVIDIA’s game-request guidance explains how publishers and developers can ask to have titles added, while NVIDIA’s historical explanation of GeForce NOW games says availability decisions can change.
That makes it more accurate to say that games became unavailable following availability changes than to claim NVIDIA unilaterally removed each one. The public notice does not identify the rights holder or explain the specific reason for each reported change, so it would be speculation to assign blame or name a licensing dispute.

Past cases show that permission has been an issue before. NVIDIA published a specific notice about God of War leaving the service. In 2020, The Long Dark was removed after its developer said NVIDIA had not obtained permission to host it, as GameSpot reported. Those examples explain why permission can shape a cloud catalog; they do not establish the reason behind the 2026 list.
Why are players frustrated?
A GeForce NOW member might already own a game and rely on the service because their local computer cannot run it well. If the compatible cloud version becomes unavailable, owning the storefront license does not itself restore access through NVIDIA. A player may need a different supported edition, another way to play, or to wait for availability to change.

Storefront-specific changes add confusion: the April post listed Steam and Epic versions of Disney Dreamlight Valley as unavailable while saying its Game Pass version remained available. A commenter said they had subscribed to GeForce NOW specifically to play that game, illustrating how a single-title change can affect an individual subscriber. That is an anecdote, not evidence that most users subscribed for the same reason or that all players are unhappy.
Does owning a game guarantee you can stream it?
No. A storefront license and GeForce NOW support are separate things. NVIDIA’s guidance on games delisted from digital stores notes that some titles may still be playable by existing owners when the game remains supported and the correct store version is selected. That is different from a guarantee that GeForce NOW will keep supporting any title indefinitely.

Likewise, a game disappearing from the store where it was sold is not automatically the same as a GeForce NOW removal. NVIDIA’s example of Rocket League explains how a store-delisted game may remain playable on the service for existing owners. Check both the storefront status and the cloud-service status before assuming one caused the other.
How to check whether your version is gone, down temporarily, or just harder to find
- Search the game by name in GeForce NOW. Check its listing rather than relying only on a saved library entry or favorite.
- Check the exact store version you own. Look for separate Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox/Game Pass or other supported editions; a listing for one does not prove another is supported.
- Check for a temporary maintenance or launch problem. A game update, launcher issue, anti-cheat change or login outage can interrupt access without constituting a permanent catalog removal.
- Check whether the service format changed. NVIDIA distinguishes Ready-to-Play and Install-to-Play. A conversion can make a game disappear from a user’s library or favorites without meaning the title has been permanently delisted. - Check publisher announcements and the relevant account or edition. Availability may vary by storefront, region and service partner. A community report may not reflect the catalog where you live.
- Send feedback through NVIDIA’s game-request route if you want a title considered. NVIDIA’s support page explains the request process and directs publishers or developers to contact NVIDIA about adding games.
Do not repurchase a game solely because one GeForce NOW version is missing. First confirm which edition, if any, is supported for your account and region.

What happens to saves and progress?
There is no single answer for all seven reported titles. Save behavior depends on the game, the storefront edition and the game’s own cloud-save or account system. A Steam save does not automatically prove that progress will transfer to an Epic or Game Pass edition. Check the publisher’s documentation for the affected title before changing editions.
A service-format conversion is a different situation from a removal. NVIDIA says converted games support Steam Cloud Saves and that progress should carry over in the conversion it describes, but that guidance should not be treated as a promise about every game, store edition or unrelated catalog change.
Could the games come back?
Possibly, but the available notice does not promise a return or give a timeline. Availability could change if a rights holder approves support again, NVIDIA adds a compatible edition or another supported storefront path becomes available. Until a first-party listing or announcement confirms it, neither permanent removal nor a comeback date is established.
Recent community posts show that players continue to request missing games and express frustration, but such posts—including ones removed by moderators—are evidence of user discussion, not proof of a new service-wide takedown.
