Choosing “You can stay” makes him happy, and he remains at the hideout. If you instead say the hideout is no place for a child, Sorin lets him stay anyway. The walkthrough reports no main-story difference between these responses.
What happens if you let Junjiro stay?
After Sorin asks Naoe to look after Junjiro, you can tell him, “You can stay.” NoobFeed’s April 16, 2025 walkthrough says Junjiro is happy with this answer and stays at the hideout.
If you voice concern that the hideout is no place for a child, Sorin responds that nowhere is safe and allows Junjiro to stay anyway. The walkthrough reports that neither dialogue response changes the main story.
| Response | Immediate result reported by the walkthrough | Main-story effect reported |
|---|---|---|
| “You can stay” | Junjiro is happy and stays at the hideout. | No difference reported. |
| Say the hideout is no place for a child | Sorin allows Junjiro to stay anyway. | No difference reported. |
Is this the Junjiro-or-Mitsuhide choice?
No. The stay conversation at the hideout is separate from the later decision at the end of “Temple of the Horseman” to find Junjiro or go to Mitsuhide. Game8 says that later choice does not affect the eventual outcome and describes finding Junjiro as the canon choice. That guidance concerns the quest choice, not whether Junjiro can remain at the hideout.

Does letting him stay affect the expansion?
Ubisoft’s September 16, 2025 announcement says “Claws of Awaji” becomes accessible after the main story arcs for Naoe and Yasuke and completion of “Out of the Shadows.” That quest becomes available after the personal quests for Naoe, Yasuke, and Junjiro. This establishes that Junjiro has a relevant personal questline; Ubisoft does not say that the hideout dialogue determines access to the expansion.
