YouTube lists advertising, YouTube Premium, channel memberships, Super Chat, Super Stickers, Super Thanks, and Shopping among possible earnings features for eligible channels. Its Partner Program overview, accessed October 3, 2026, lists a threshold of 1,000 subscribers plus either 4,000 qualified public watch hours in the previous 12 months or 10 million qualified Shorts views in the previous 90 days. Policy, geography, account standing, and feature-specific requirements also apply; meeting a headline threshold does not itself guarantee every feature.
Google’s YouTube Partner earnings overview, accessed October 3, 2026, states these module rates:

Pitch brands without assuming a campaign is waiting
YouTube’s creator guidance includes brand partnerships as a way to earn. A practical pitch can summarize your audience, the subject matter of your channel, why the product fits, possible deliverables, and examples of previous work. Do not promise audience outcomes you cannot substantiate or assume a brand will accept a proposal.

Twitch announced on August 20, 2026 that Affiliates may be included in select sponsorship campaigns when they meet the brand’s criteria. Twitch also requires Affiliates to complete Creator Sponsorship Certification to be eligible for sponsorship opportunities. This is conditional campaign access, not automatic sponsorship income.
When a YouTube video is influenced by a brand partner in exchange for payment, free products, or sponsorship, YouTube says creators must use its branded-content declaration. Follow the relevant platform disclosure rules and applicable local advertising requirements; make the commercial relationship clear to viewers.

Recommend products only when they genuinely help viewers
Twitch Creator Camp identifies Amazon Associates as one way streamers can earn referral revenue: a creator can link specific products and may earn a commission on qualifying purchases. A streaming microphone is one potentially relevant category for a streamer’s setup, but no particular model or performance ranking is established here. Do not turn that category into an endorsement without checking the product and its fit for your audience.
Keep recommendations tied to questions viewers actually ask, disclose that a link may earn you a commission, and check Amazon Associates’ current terms and participation requirements before using links. A click or purchase is not guaranteed, and affiliate revenue should not drive a recommendation that would otherwise be a poor fit.

YouTube Shopping lets eligible creators connect their own store and may let them tag products from other brands. YouTube says sales from a creator’s store are paid by the official merch retailer or platform. The availability and requirements depend on eligibility and the connected store.

Merch makes most sense when viewers want a tangible way to show affiliation with the creator or community. Consider whether a design or item has a real audience fit before spending time on a storefront. No particular fulfillment provider or sales volume is established here.

Twitch Creator Camp describes subscriptions and Bits as common ways communities support streamers. Affiliates and Partners receive $0.01 per Bit used to Cheer directly on their channel, according to that guidance. Bits and subscriptions are platform-native monetization of livestreaming; they are useful context, but they are not income beyond livestreaming in the sense of an independent product or service.
Twitch’s Affiliate Program FAQ, accessed October 3, 2026, lists invitation criteria of 25 followers, four streamed hours, four different stream days, and an average of three viewers on four different days in the preceding 30 days. Twitch can change program requirements, so check its current FAQ before planning around a threshold.

Keep an offline channel active without mistaking it for a revenue plan
A prerecorded stream can keep a YouTube channel live while you are away, but being live is not itself a side hustle or a promise of monetization. YouTube eligibility and content policies still matter, and creators should use material they have rights to stream. Do not assume that repeating content qualifies for monetization just because it is technically live.
