No release date has been announced: the PlayStation Store currently lists it as “Release date to be determined,” and Gematsu reported no date when the game was announced on October 1, 2026.
What is Signal Veil?
Signal Veil is described by its publisher as a classic third-person survival-horror game built around psychological terror, emotional storytelling and a 1990s anime-inspired aesthetic. Its story follows teenager Aki Mizuno after her mother disappears, leaving behind a cellphone with supernatural abilities.
Aki investigates a series of disappearances at Nishikawa High School and uncovers a truth about herself. The school and her mother’s disappearance form the central mystery, according to the publisher’s description on the PlayStation Store and the Gematsu announcement report.
How does the cellphone work?
The cellphone is Aki’s supernatural tool for detecting and interacting with the unseen. It vibrates, emits unusual sounds and displays interference when spiritual presences or lingering memories are nearby. The publisher says it can help detect enemies before they fully manifest, identify corrupted areas, and reveal clues or signals that ordinary sight cannot pick up.

It also plays a role in encounters. The publisher says hostile entities can be fought only after exposure: Aki can use the phone’s flash to disturb them, provoke them into revealing themselves or expose spiritual weak points. These are announced mechanics, not hands-on impressions.
What survival-horror mechanics has the publisher announced?
Observation and limited resources
The publisher frames encounters as tests of observation and timing rather than brute force alone. Medicine, key items and mystical weapons are described as limited resources, so the announced design places emphasis on deciding when to investigate, engage or conserve supplies.

Aki’s emotional state affects perception
As Aki’s emotional state deteriorates, her perception of reality becomes distorted. The publisher says this can change the environment and enemy behavior, tying the psychological-horror premise to how the game world is experienced.

The platform list comes from Gematsu’s October 1, 2026 announcement report. The PlayStation Store identifies Serafini Productions as publisher. A Steam search listing names Time Hunters and Serafini Productions as developers and Serafini Productions as publisher; Gematsu’s database separately lists Time Hunters as developer. Because the Steam page could not be directly verified, check its live listing for current credits and storefront details.

When does Signal Veil release?
No release date or release window is established in the sources reviewed. The US PlayStation Store listing says “Release date to be determined,” while Gematsu’s report said no date was announced. Price, preorder details, physical editions, system requirements, ratings, accessibility features and platform-specific performance are also not established in those sources.
