That puts Silksong’s launch price roughly 20–30 cents above the inflation-adjusted original, depending on the exact CPI calculation. The converted range is an approximation derived from the reported prices and BLS method; it is not a figure published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
How the inflation adjustment works
The comparison uses the BLS Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U), U.S. city average, all items, not seasonally adjusted. The BLS calculator uses annual-average CPI for completed years and the latest monthly index for the current year; its inflation calculator and methodology page describe the approach.
In practical terms, the calculation asks what amount in 2025 would have purchasing power similar to $14.99 in 2017, based on broad consumer prices. It does not track video-game prices specifically.
