To refine a weapon in Slayers 2, take an owned weapon to Refiner Hagane in Hidden Mist Village, select it, review the next step’s Wen and ore requirements and displayed odds, then attempt the upgrade. Community guides report that failed attempts can lower refinement and consume materials, so check the live panel before spending. Refinement is separate from forging a weapon at the blacksmith.
How to refine a weapon with Hagane
- Travel to Hidden Mist Village and find Refiner Hagane, as described by the Slayers 2 Guide and PlayerTome guide.
- Open Hagane’s refinement interaction and select a weapon you already own. This is not the blacksmith’s separate forging flow for making a weapon.
- Inspect the current level and the next refinement step. Check the Wen cost, exact ore name and quantity, and the displayed chances for success, great success, and failure.
- If you want to use a Refinement Guard, activate it in the interface and confirm it is shown as active. Having one in your inventory should not be treated as proof that it is armed.
- Attempt the refinement, then check the weapon’s resulting level and your remaining materials before making another attempt.

Which ore does each refinement level use?
The community guide reports that Refinement Ore is used through the +4-to-+5 attempt, while Mythic Ore is required beginning with +5 to +6. Confirm the exact item name in Hagane’s live panel; the guide’s weapon page refers to the higher-tier material as Mythic Refinement Ore, while its refinement table labels the cost “Mythic Ore.” See the weapon guide and refinement guide.

The available sources do not establish a verified, current drop table or a best route for ordinary Refinement Ore. Check the in-game item or source information and current event rewards rather than assuming a route or rate from player reports.

Mythic Refinement Ore
The community weapon guide lists Sealed Caches, World Events Chests, Snow and Lost Chests, fishing, and selling spare Mythic items to Ginzo as possible sources. It does not provide official confirmation of their current availability or authoritative drop rates, so treat these as reported leads, not guaranteed yields: Slayers 2 Guide weapon page.
Players also discuss fishing as an ore-farming method, but those posts do not establish that it is the fastest or most reliable option. See the discussions on fishing with a rod and ways to get ores. Compare a route by whether it produces the ore you need, the time and activity it takes, and what the game currently shows for its rewards—not by an unverified claim that one method is best.

When should you stop refining?
There is no universal best stopping level established by the available guides: weapons receive different benefits, and later attempts in the reported table carry higher failure chances and require rarer ore. Compare the gain Hagane shows for your specific weapon against the current cost and the displayed failure consequence. If you cannot afford to lose the level or materials, do not attempt that step without checking whether a guard is active and what it protects.
