Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer is HEROIC’s new head coach for its main Counter-Strike 2 roster. The organization announced the appointment on October 1, 2026, after moving Joonas “doto” Forss to the bench. The move brings Snappi back to HEROIC, where he played in multiple spells from 2016 to 2020.
What changed at HEROIC?
Snappi takes over as head coach, while doto was benched on the same day as the announcement. HEROIC has described Snappi as a founding member who was part of its active lineup multiple times between 2016 and 2020. HLTV characterizes his time with the team as more than two years across two spells.
The appointment is a return to a familiar organization, but in a different role: Snappi moves from player and in-game leader to coach. HLTV’s October 1 appointment report and HEROIC’s announcement confirm the change.
Why did Snappi stop playing?
Snappi said his individual level had declined to the point where he felt it was better to make room for new players. “I think my individual level has gotten to the point where it’s better to let some new faces come in,” he told HLTV in an interview published October 2.

He had stepped down from Ninjas in Pyjamas’ active lineup by mutual agreement on August 31, 2026. HLTV reported that he had been NIP’s in-game leader for over a year and a half, having taken the role at the start of 2025. Snappi said the HEROIC job seemed like a good opportunity: “I thought it was a good opportunity for now, so I saw no reason to wait.”
His coaching move followed a long playing career rather than a single change of team. In his October 1 statement, Snappi said he had not been ready to stop playing when HEROIC first approached him earlier in the year, but reconsidered after his NIP stint ended and he saw HEROIC’s young roster. Read his comments in HLTV’s interview and the report on his NIP departure.

What experience does he bring?
Snappi’s previous HEROIC spells give him a direct history with the organization. Since then, he has also played for ENCE, Falcons and NIP. HEROIC’s appointment announcement credits his ENCE period with helping take an underdog squad to the top-two ranking and winning ENCE’s first major LAN trophy at IEM Dallas 2023; those are the organization’s own retrospective characterizations.
At NIP, his most recent role was IGL. HLTV’s August 31 report says the team’s biggest Big Event result under his leadership was reaching the quarter-finals at PGL Astana, alongside titles at smaller events.

What is HEROIC’s goal, and when is Snappi due to debut?
Snappi said the goal for the team and organization was to bring HEROIC back to tier one. That is an ambition, not an achieved result or a guarantee of future performance.
HLTV reported on October 1 that Snappi was scheduled to make his first appearance behind HEROIC at Stake Pulse Beat III in Stockholm, listed for October 12–17, 2026. That was the schedule at the time of the report; it does not establish whether he ultimately appeared at the event.
