PS5 owners can still share eligible game captures using the PlayStation App, but posting through the app requires a phone or other mobile device.
What changed on PS5 and PS4?
Sony says that, as of November 13, 2023, X integration no longer functions on either console; the timing may differ by region. The consoles can no longer link an X account to post or view content, including trophies and other gameplay-related activity, and the integrated view of X-published content is gone. This was the removal of a direct console link to X, not the end of PlayStation captures or all social features. For example, Sony’s September 2023 PS5 update described party invitations and previews of another player’s Share Screen as separate features; it did not describe them as a replacement for X access. How to share PS5 captures after the X integration ended
The PlayStation App provides a route for eligible captures: upload them from the console, then download them to a mobile device and share them through an app available on that device. Sony’s feature is available only in supported countries and regions. Sony’s PlayStation App capture instructions.

- Enable captures in the app. In the PlayStation App, turn on game captures. Make sure your PS5 is linked to the app.
- Upload from the console. For automatic uploads, leave the PS5 in Rest Mode and enable Stay Connected to the Internet in its Rest Mode settings. Alternatively, open Media Gallery on the PS5, select a capture, and choose Upload to PlayStation App.
- Download and share on your phone. In the app, open Library > Captures, select a capture and download it to your mobile device. Then choose Share > Share via to send it through another supported app.
Which captures can you upload?
Sony’s app workflow covers gameplay videos shorter than three minutes that are not 4K, plus screenshots taken using the Create Menu or Create button shortcuts. Supported videos can be up to 1920×1080. Trophy-moment captures and Activity Challenge auto-captures are excluded. Captures remain available in the app for 14 days, and Sony says PlayStation Plus is not required for this feature. Sony’s capture eligibility and app guidance.

Not through the former direct X integration on PS5. You can use the PlayStation App workflow for eligible captures, download a file to your mobile device, and share it through another supported app. The cited Sony instructions describe that general mobile sharing route, not a direct console-to-X posting method.
