The official recap says the showcase ran just over an hour. Its announcements ranged from an early-development remake of the original God of War trilogy to games available on PS5 that day; the roundup below distinguishes firm dates from broader release windows and undated projects.
What was announced at the February 2026 State of Play?
Sony’s February 12 PlayStation Blog recap, written by Gillen McAllister, Manager, Content Communications at Sony Interactive Entertainment, covers new games alongside sequels, remasters, DLC, demos and service updates. The dates and windows below reflect what Sony stated in that recap, not a later schedule check.
For the key distinctions: the Greek-era God of War trilogy remake was in early development, while God of War Sons of Sparta was reported as available on PS5 that day. Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 was given an August 27, 2026 launch date. Other announcements had only a season or year, or no release timing in the recap.

Coming in spring 2026
- Mina the Hollower: Yacht Games showed gameplay and announced a PS5 demo for February 13. Sony described a spring release and features including more than 25 bosses, 60 trinkets, weapon upgrades, New Game Plus, gameplay modifiers and fishing.
Coming later in 2026
- Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse: A new 2D action-exploration game for PS5 from Konami, Evil Empire and Motion Twin. Sony highlighted new weapons and abilities alongside classic tools, with a new art style.
- Crimson Moon: ProbablyMonsters’ action-adventure RPG set in a gothic world of angels, demons and ancient gods. It supports solo play or co-op and was described as coming to PS5 later in the year.
- Kena: Scars of Kosmora: Ember Lab’s new adventure follows an older Kena on the island of Kosmora. Sony highlighted spirit companions, elemental gameplay and combat, with a 2026 release on PS5 and PC.
- Star Wars: Galactic Racer: A PS5 racing game set in an unsanctioned Outer Rim racing circuit, with gameplay shown across multiple planets and vehicles.
Coming next year
- Yakoh Shinobi Ops: Four-player online isometric shinobi action for PS5, announced for 2027. Players cooperate to infiltrate guarded territory, use ninjutsu, evade traps and soldiers, and escape a persistent pursuer.
Reveals and updates without a release date in the recap
- 007 First Light: IO Interactive showed a story trailer for its original take on James Bond’s origins. The recap describes Bond’s exploits in Iceland bringing him to MI6’s attention, and introduces training instructor John Greenway and rogue former operative 009.
- 4: Loop: Bad Robot Games outlined the mechanics and core gameplay loop of its four-player co-op shooter. The recap pointed to a creator article mentioning future beta opportunities but did not give a date.
- Brigandine Abyss: A new single-player fantasy strategy RPG in the Brigandine series, returning to hex-grid battles. Sony described it as a new entry following Brigandine: The Legend of Runersia; the original game launched on the first PlayStation in 1998.
- Control Resonant: Remedy Entertainment shared details on shapeshifting weapons, gravity anomalies and supernatural abilities in a Manhattan reshaped by otherworldly forces.
- John Wick: Saber Interactive is developing a PS5 game with the franchise’s creators about a previously unseen chapter in John Wick’s life. Sony described cinematic camerawork, environments, gun-fu action and driving. The recap said the official title and release date were not yet known.
- Project Windless: A PS5-bound dark fantasy open-world action RPG inspired by the Korean novel series The Bird That Drinks Tears. It is set thousands of years before the source material and features the Rekons, a nomadic humanoid bird race.
- Rev.Noir: Konami revealed a JRPG set in a world threatened by “lightfall,” a phenomenon that kills those it touches. Its story follows a boy with lost memories and a mysterious girl. Sony did not list a platform or release date in the recap.
- Silent Hill: Townfall: A first-person horror game centered on exploration, combat and evasion, and story puzzles. Sony highlighted a retro portable CRT television that functions as an encounter tool and a way to reveal story. The recap did not give a release date.
God of War: a remake and a separate game
The original Greek trilogy remake
Santa Monica Studio confirmed that a remake of the original Greek trilogy is in early development. The announcement did not include a release date.

God of War Sons of Sparta
Sony reported that this separate 2D action platformer, made with Mega Cat Studios, was available on PS5 on February 12, 2026. It is not the trilogy remake.
PlayStation Plus announcements
Sony’s recap included additions across Monthly Games, the Game Catalog and Premium-classics offerings. The catalog list was described as available starting February 17, 2026; PlayStation Plus availability can vary by tier and region, and service lineups change over time.
